Having endured "English" courses in college within the past decade, I can attest to the poor quality of the education provided. I can easily compose, write and spell better than most professors I met at that community college. I had one actually-competent professor (who had a masters in English Literature and was a blast to talk to about Roman and Greek history) who would grade harshly for poor grammar and spelling, and without exception every student who ate a bad mark for it pissed and moaned about it.
I learned more about English grammar from my teacher in high school who taught Latin and Greek than I did from any English teacher I've ever had.
Latin is a criminally underrated language for its utility beyond 'a dead language'. So many words are rooted in it or related to it that taking it is largely beneficial especially for medical or scientific careers. All the weird rules of english and other romantic language made more sense to me after taking latin. Also, Romans.
"To" = Getting from one concept to another. You want to get there quick, so the word is shorter.

yeah, no. There are some procedures you really, REALLY don't want too be awake for. For example, open heart surgery is LITERALLY the Norse "Blood Eagle". Your breast bone is split laterally in half, your ribs are splayed too the side, and the doctors go in and start touching parts of you that are not meant too be touched.
