Christians are statistically the most persecuted religious group in the entire world. This does not change because there happens to be a lot of Christians, or because the US (or a handful of other countries) decided to be somewhat friendly to Christians for a couple hundred years.

There are still many countries where just being a Christian is a crime. In Syria, terror attacks by Islamic militants are extremely common. Chinese people essentially live under state-enforced atheism and have to meet for church in secret. Communist nations have historically made a hobby out of slaughtering Christians because atheism is a core tenet of Marxism. Even in stereotypically overwhelmingly Christian states like Canada, you still have incidents like the 2021 church burnings. Again, the fact that the US has been somewhat friendly to Christianity is a huge departure from the norm, and even then Christians and their culture are still mocked and belittled in every facet of Current Year culture.

I could go on and on, especially about modern-day European countries and their decline into secularism, but I think you get it. The fact that Christianity continues to endure and grow despite this unbelievable level of historical persecution is nothing short of divine intervention.
