What I find funny about the list, isn't so much what political side anyone is on, just that the major absence of names in comedy implies that Jimmy Kimmel isn't funny. Like no funny people have his back. He has Lena Dunham, David Cross and a bunch of geriatrics, and women who were in other forms of entertainment (Debbie Gibson, Cindy Lauper, Meryl Streep) but hardly anyone known for being funny.

During previous elections they would make entire episodes about how voting was the equivalent of picking between a turd sandwich and a giant douche. But then right before the 2020 elections they literally had the kids look into the camera and beg everyone to get out and vote.

I'm pretty sure this applies to like a War of the Worlds type broadcast, not what Kimmel did. It's so people can't announce a fake terror attack that causes public panic to go out and kill the neighbor from Iraq or some shit. The intentional distortion applies to news, IIRC, not entertainment.

They went from Noam Chomsky style analysis that was against the establishment, against big business, against US foreign policy and the military industrial complex, even against the big banks, to exactly what you described. By the end of Occupy Wall Street in 2008 I knew the left had been completely coopted and folded into the establishment.
