Slight PL, I remember this guidance being given to my mother when I was a young child. 'Trusted medical professionals' suggested she give me off the shelf painkillers like Tylenol if I still felt bad a little while after my shots or medical visits. It was/is the general guidance for parents when kids complained of nagging pain. iirc in many areas school nurses serve to pop a couple pain pills into a kids mouth and send them back to class(not necessarily their fault, they aren't allowed to do much else without the parents).
