A lot of the initial Leftist commentary amounted to: "He was raised in a wholesome Christian family, with a father present, so there's no way he could be a Lefty!"
When these discussions come up, I like to point out a couple of things:
- All the conspiracies our Bible-thumping uncles predicted in the 80s & 90s have been surpassed by unimaginable Current Year degeneracy, and we owe them an eternal apology
- While there were Christian/conservative groups doing the "this music is satanic" bit, never forget that the entire "Parental Advisory, Explicit Content" apparatus came from Tipper Gore and that generation's nagging HR lefties.

I believe that this is the translation that's used liturgically in the Catholic Church in England and Wales.
Different English-speaking countries' Bishops choose the "official" translation that's read at Mass, etc...for the US it's the NABRE (with different Psalms, I think...Grail translation? Don't quote me.), in Ireland it's mainly the 1966 Jerusalem Bible, but apparently their Bishops may be moving towards the RNJB or the ESVCE. I'm no expert, but someone a lot smarter than I am answered the question "what Bible translation should I use?" with "the one you'll *read*". The KJV (and the DR) are classics of the English language and a copy should be on the bookshelf of every person (even atheists!) who loves English, next to the works of Shakespeare. But for devotional use, most folks need a translation that doesn't require *immediate* explanation. I myself use the RSV-CE mostly.

Watching how both sides have progressed over this has been quite interesting. The right has moved onto planning retribution, shoring up their institutions and wargaming their next moves.
The left is a mixture of denial that it was them, denial of the importance, making fun of Trump and MAGA for caring and trying to appeal to right wing values of free speech that they mocked for well over a decade to convince the right not to retaliate.
I am expecting they will kill again soon. Make sure Matt Walsh has security around him.
It helps to think of it in terms of religion. The yuppies were doing it to get to heaven and worship Jesus as the savior, and using it to enact righteous fury on the unbeliever. The SJWs and now progressives have a secular religion of liberalism, which promises a heaven on Earth of luxury gay space communism and has neoliberalism as the savior ideology. This lets them enact righteous fury against anyone not playing along as they are holding Utopia back.

Yeah, I do think there are ways in which the right can overdo things by getting people fired for increasingly small minutae. It could be an opportunity to show how these firing campaigns could be done more responsibly and have a stop date when people move on to other issues

If you want classical "olde" English but also want the Catholic deuterocanonical books, get the Douay-Rheims Bible - there are versions of the King James Bible which include "the apocrypha" but those aren't "approved" by the Catholic Church. Traditionalists love the Douay Rheims Bible because it doesn't include any of the "gender neutral" language changes the NABRE translation has made.

I also hope that the college students starting TPUSA chapters in their schools stay safe too. I can easily see some insane leftoids doing something to their fellow students on campus.

I’ve never forgotten. The social sensibilities of democrat and republican women weren’t that different on many topics relating the children until the last decade. The old hippie dem moms hated the violence in music, the republicans hated the satanic, anti-Christian influences. “Protecting children” usually was easy consensus among mothers. School segregation is the one issue i think caused divisions among normie women regarding kids in the last 70 years.
Redifing what “protecting children” meant was the hat trick. It was pretty common sense shit up until 2010. I blame the ascent of therapy culture, and parents outsourcing parenting to “experts,” for priming the soil for the degeneracy.
