It's a great case of not reading the room. Kirk was a C tier "influencer". Maybe one day he would be B tier, but neither he nor anyone in his immediate circle would inter politics to any worthwhile capacity. At best they would be a Sarah Palin.

I read into it a bit more plainly. Erika seems grounded in her faith and what God calls us to do in regards to forgiving others. And yes, rightous justice still can occur and doesn't just go away when you forgive someone. She did not call for mercy for the shooter. I don't understand how many people think biblical forgiveness is being a cuck to terrible things happening and just letting things get worse.

Trump on the other hand doesn't show any sort of that faith in Christ; all he does is talk about God, and thinks all his good works will get him into Heaven. It's part of the reason why he said what he said about hating his enemies. Is what he said useful in a political, secular context? Perhaps, but I still think it would have been possible to rally strength and justice with different words like the many different speakers before him were able to do.

If a co-worker of mine started spouting Kiwifarms level of conspiratorial rage when George Floyd died, I wouldn't want to work with that person. It tells me you are too online, that you're making politics your personality, and that you probably can't moderate your emotions. That's not a good person to be around professionally or socially.

It's the same with Kirk. If you can't handle this situation with a modicum of grace then I don't trust you, don't want to be around you, and can't see myself collaborating with you personally. You are compromised and offensive.
