Two things, I think.
1. "Beloved" implies everyone loves them, which is untrue.
2. The irony that leftists can think SOME rich white guys are ok while OTHERS are not when they are all about shit like "eat the rich" shines through. They just love those rich white guys so much they are allowed to say whatever they want, apparently.

Quick guide on why Kimmel's quote violates FCC policy in case you find yourselves debating a mouthbreather or fencesitter. It makes me MATI every time I see some bowlegged, knock-kneed, timid sheeple of a person desperately screaming to know what the hell was so bad about Kimmel's comment. So go ahead and digest this so that you can vomit it back out for them like you're feeding a retarded baby bird. Just remember that there are bad faith actors out there deliberately trying to confuse the issue, too. Terrorists, the lot of them.

Nobody knew for certain what Tyler Robinson's true political affiliation was, even though it was already leaning towards the left. Meanwhile in Kimmel's desperate rush to throw out jabs at Republicans as usual, he made assumptions about Tyler's affiliation and slandered MAGA for it. There's an important principle to understand here: f you know nothing, but you say something anyways, you're inventing fiction. Speculative fiction, but still fiction. Still fearmongering. You're still lying and publishing falsehoods to create a narrative before we even have firsthand facts to go with.
By the time the episode aired, we knew for certain that all signs pointed towards the shooter being extremely left wing. Jimmy Kimmel rushed ahead too fast with the wild speculations floating around the Internet, and he got shitcanned for it.

Maybe it should be used. Perhaps we're getting into personal opinions territory here, but if the FCC can be used to take down more shows, maybe they should. If a show gets taken down unjustly, then the decision should be fought over in court like a man. You still have rights even if you get kicked around. Sure. Saying that a word is carrying a lot of weight suggests that the meaning of a claim or argument not only hinges on it, but also that it's misleading or carries with it assumptions that the person calling attention to the word doesn't agree with. It's a way of saying that a given word is quite a stretch. (Not the best explanation, but close enough for this discussion.)
In this particular case, someone said that we are in a dangerous place politically because even "beloved" television personalities like Colbert and Kimmel are having their shows canceled. However, given that both of them are smug assholes with shows that pander to a narrow demographic and have relatively small partisan audiences as a result, "beloved" is a serious stretch.

Is there a reason why all of the celebrating and grandstanding is mainly women? Like, the normal everyday people. I get the media and conservative talking heads, they gotta chase that bag. But like, my buddy and I barely talked about it; said its a fucked situation — meanwhile his wife posted a 6 part Instagram reel of her screaming to the phone in their kitchen of why Kirk's death is a good thing and she doesn't care if she loses friends over a "Nazi's" death.
