I don't accept that you aren't at least a little bit upset. I'm not talking about being MATI, I'm mean the general "damn, I used to like that show" kind of upset. Like how OG fans of Star Wars felt when they saw the prequels, or how zoomer fans of Star Wars felt about the Disney sequels. If you're a Lord of the Rings, Fallout, Star Trek, Star Wars, CoD, GoT, or whatever fan, regardless of when you stopped watching/caring, it still does feel like a bit of betrayal or corruption of a story and characters you used to love.
Also (this is more of a philosophical point) I think people and their works are a product of their time. Matt and Trey are different people than they were in 2004 and their writing styles have been poisoned by the political climate and culture of today. This isn't a left versus right argument btw, everybody is more polarised and more preachy and belligerent than they used to be, it's simply a reaction to our environment. People can argue (and do) that certain works always had political messaging, but during the early 2000s the dialogue was much more civil and amicable than it was now, even for extremist ideologies.

Food for thought: when South Park first aired, Matt and Trey were 26 and 27. Meaning they've been figures of the entertainment industry longer than they were even alive for when they first broke into it.

This isn't the first time that they censored themselves. So anyone who is shocked at them having issues with watering down their own works just isn't familiar with how Stone and Parker have always been. They are also $1 billion in debt. So they need to sell out at historical levels for those big corporate payouts. Pretty much anyone with a brain expected this Paramount deal to be a disaster because these guys were spending out of control in the last few years.
The difference was that Lucas blew up his own brand to sell more toys. Then sold the brand to idiots to destroy it further. He choose to take a big giant steaming dump on his own Star Wars story and fans. The Fallout guys had their brand stolen from them by a corrupt banking executive. Tolkien died and his family sold his works to a giant packaging company. The original creators had no say in the ruining of the franchises that they made in those cases.
If GRRM wants to put troons and niggers and wheelchair heroes in his stories he's free to do it. It's his world. When people start doing it to Shakespeare or Dune or whatever just to spite the culture around those works and vandalize the stories it's an outsider coming in like a child and smashing things. Stone and Parker made South Park and can unmake it all they want and look like morons and hypocrites to the entire world. And we can laugh at them. No one is upset. I think most of us find this hilarious. It's the real entertainment that South Park provides.
Exactly what happened to GRRM and ASOIAF/Game of Thrones. He wrote the first books in the 90s and during the early 2000s and Bush years. Then procrastinated for decades until 2025. Made $100 million in that time. And now he's completely changed as a person and out of touch with the mindset he had when he first started the novels. He doesn't even understand why he wrote the story like he did in the first place because he can't mentally connect with his past self anymore. Stone and Parker are the same with South Park which is why the show will never regain the goofy base humor of the first seasons.

ASOIAF is a convoluted mess with too many plotlines that branched out to actually tie everything up in a meaningful manner in just two books. As much as GRRM lamented how Tolkien didn't have Aragorn act out his tax plan for Gondor in LOTR, Tolkien knew story structure of a grandstory, and how everything about the world is built off a simple main plotline, which in this case is bringing the one ring to Mt. Doom to destroy it,with the Hobbits acting as narrative vessels for the readers in this strange high fantasy world that they can be given exposition to. ASOIAF doesn't have an overall main plot. In the books, the Others (Nightwalkers in GoT) are barely fleshed out with no identified leader, unnatural elements are for more present (see: Lady Stoneheart), many of the major players are still very much alive, and there still isn't an overarching goal in the books. If its loose TV adaption GoT is to go by, Martin never had a single clue on what to do with the Others or the actual war outside of the Others being defeated and Daenerys going mad - which is gradual in the books, but they never bothered showing this in the show until the very last episode, which pissed people off unfamiliar with her personality in the books- and that sloppy pitfall midway into the show is exemplary that to never write a show off an incomplete book series unless the author has proof he has a detailed outline of the remainder of books he has to write as a 'just in case' scenario
tl;dr: GRRM fell into a massive writers pit and couldn't get out. Money may have made him less inclined to finish it, but he was fucked regardless.

They bought the actual Casa Bonita for $3 million after it filed for bankruptcy back in 2021 and spent another $40 million renovating it. It's only been open for business for two years now, and apparently it's got some asinine reservation system that's not easy to actually go there if you want to, so it's probably going to be several years before they make their money back, if they ever do.

Back of the hand math indicates that a high end restaurant has annual profit of up to $500,000 so I don't think they will live to see Casa Bonita pay for itself

Not quite, Fallout IP was sold fair and square in an equivalent of a garage sale due to Interplay incompetence. I suggest you watch a good documentary about that company, people like to talk about Ubisoft or EA but they forget that Interplay might have been one of the most retarded and incompetent companies in gaming history. At the time, many saw Bethesda buying out the IP as them saving it from the abusive hands of Interplay as Todd hasn't burned the goodwill of the company to the ground by that point and Bethesda were still seen as one of the best RPG producers in the west. A perfect fit, really, that is until Fallout 3 came out.

Doesn't mean we can't reminisce our favorite older episodes and characters, ridicule delusional pedophilic fujos and gooners, watch M&T continuously self-destruct, discuss theories (without acting like retarded YouTube essayists), share good fan art, or make up our own episode ideas in spirit of the show's glory days.
Point is, misery loves company. Why waste your energy looking for Redditards' approval over SP pumping out turd sandwich after turd sandwich or explaining Isaac Hayes' departure for the umpteenth time when we can talk about anything and understand the franchise better than its' own creators? M&T have nobody to blame but themselves burning bridges and censoring their legacy.

It would be really funny if, instead of having to hurriedly redo their material in the wake of the Kirk assassination, it turned out Stone and Parker were getting paid a billion dollars and they and their people had just been hit the worst case of collective writer's block ever and are trying to cover up for the fact that they had absolutely nothing ready.

Imagine if instead of having a season dedicated to TDS, they made the overarching story set in Casa Bonita. Fulfill their contract obligations to Paramount at the same time they advertise their side hustle. I was surprised when I learned it was a real place years after the episode aired, I'll bet many who have fond memories of that episode don't know either.
