The "rugged individualism" never goes to the same lengths that leftist individualism goes to, as there's still some semblance of responsibility towards family and respect for property rights and whatnot.

And leftists hate religion because it tells them they're not allowed to do certain things, them ranting about how it distracts from "social issues" is just a mirage.

I don't think right wingers, even those who want to live off the grid, really reject community altogether, they just don't want to live in a bughive. It's also a desire to be in a place that's less likely to burn down when law and order collapse.

The thing with leftism and liberalism is that it's proof that there's a horseshoe with the whole "individualism vs collectivism" thing.

They're such narcissists and hyperindividualists, it loops right back around to collectivism: they don't respect other people's rights or personal boundaries, they treat others like an extension of themselves and get very angry when others refuse to act as such.
