I don't think it matters if Robinson is a groyper chud or not (hes obviously antifa but I digress.)

The left's reaction is far more telling about what they think about it then the political affiliation of the shooter.

Can anyone who's good at AI art get me an image of Isaac from The Binding of Isaac (pfp) in a burger suit? You can DM it to me or just post as a reply. I tried to get it with grok and even with reference images it gave me total nonsense.

Thanks.

That is entirely not possible in today's political climate. It has not been possible since Trump came around and made everyone insane. You could argue Obama as well. Maybe Dubya, but that was less politics, more "Are you with us or Against us"
I agree with your assessment of the political climate. Hence my distaste for "debate". I conclude then that claims of "Charlie just wanted to talk to them" are as disingenuous as every other claim by political influencers.

Or they are optimists. I'm not going to fault a guy for trying, nor crucify him when he goes into hostile territory on the regular to do just that. Arguably, it was working: Gen Z is more right leaning than ever, and if there wasn't a mainstream normal young conservative voice out there, I can see it being a lot less pronounced.

Its a lot more worthwhile than sitting in your stream hugbox telling people what they want to hear for 10 bux a hit

I think the Left is in for a RUDE awakening. Weimar to Third Reich tier awakening.

People are sick of feeling unsafe in their own land, being replaced with subhuman savages.

Stay optimistic fuckers, it's a pendulum swing away.
I think the Overton window in the last 2 years have shifted even faster and harder to the right than even 2014-2022 to the left. Unless major shifts happen I don't think the GOP needs to worry about gerrymandering at all for midterms, but do it anyway. If the election was now they'd probably lose 25% of their congress entire power or more.

Definitely going out to talk to/at people is brave. I can accept that he was an influencer with a strong emotional following but I am not his target audience and am left nonplussed. Doesn't condone the murder, though.

I am not trying to be flippant as I dislike political discourse. Not having heard Kirk, my assumption was that he wants to debate, win the debate, and influence listeners to his point of view. Talking something out is different. That involves more give and take and meeting in the middle. I assume Kirk influenced people but was he influenced himself by the students he debated?
I didn't know much about him but I've seen multiple interviews since the assassination, and I would say he seems to generally want to connect with the young people that talk to him. The one I saw that stood out to me was a college student girl who said she knew she was Trans at 13. After talking a little he said he wanted her to be comfortable with her body and not resort to medication and surgery to make herself feel better. He let her speak, listened, and responded in a compassionate way that she listened to. I wouldn't call it a debate but a discussion.

Even when he was confronted with a Satanist wearing a costume and chanting a spell at him he just smiled and prayed about it.

Worth watching a few clips since both sides speak instead of screaming facts and logic at each other.

"Facts and Logic" should become the same type of meme as "Thought and Prayers". And your reply was exactly what I was looking for

does anyone remember that movie about a fictional assassination of president bush? Circa 2007 or 8? the masturbatory fetishization of politcal violence has a long history. as i recall it even had the "Um, actually it was a rightie assassin" side plot as well.

This is all that needs to be said by leftists to be able to have a country. You can't live in a country where half the country justifies the murder of the other half.

I don't think leftists understand that Kirk was a moderate among the right. I've seen a lot of posts saying he's some kind of extremist on the right. At this point leftists are so far into their own echo chambers they have no conception of the right-wing.

I don't know if one can pinpoint a specific year or presidency as to when that became impossible. I think it's been a gradual process as the federal government began assuming more power unto itself, thus leading to national politics becoming more important than they should be. As issues such as abortion and the size of government got taken away from the local level and all became issues of national import, national politics became all consuming and the stakes started becoming too high.

Now that the stakes have all been turned up to 11, much as they were in the 1850s, and where people view national politics and national elections as existential events, coupled with the Internet and SM, political violence has to be expected for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear.

The lefties began this most recent (Trump era) downward spiral into societal shunning and political violence. They will not be heard now to object when such is visited upon them.

Like you said you can’t pinpoint exactly when this started but if I had to guess I’d say post 2010 at the very least. This is when the internet become popular with non nerd types and as well when a lot of the more insane leftist poltics and ideas were being born.

So can someone 411 me about the apparent mass banning on this forum? Something about HHH getting banned at last?
Temp ban of, I guess 5 more days? 130 or something users banned for taking HHH bait in the Kirk thread and HHH himself. There's a list in the first locked thread and maybe there's a link to it a few pages back.

political violence started when someone convinced 10 of his friends to kill the tribe chief for more mammoth meat and a pass at his wives. America has had political violence from the start, literally. However, after the period of polarization and violence eventually one side wins and an overton window is born. After the 60s the "left" won. That win was cemented by Ronald Ragan, who set the bounds for the right-wing. Eventually the left kept winning, until a bunch of spergs online helped Donald Trump win. Donald Trump wasn't apart of the intelligencia, so he wasn't given the proper training as to what positions a right-wing person could hold.

Leftists hated George Bush, but he was still controlled by the elite. I do think elite leftists want other elite leftists to have violence at the back of their minds. This time I don't know where the Overton Window will fall. I don't know if the left will allow this process to happen without a major fight.

The end goal is to have the left so buck broken that we set their agenda.

So some more shit went down in Utah and they can’t deny the motivations this time

Anti-Trump decorations, upside down flag, two foreign faggots named Nasir…

Back in the 1980s people used to watch network TV. There were politicized evangelicals who were pretty hateful. There were also shows with pundits screaming at each other. There was Lee Atwater stirring racial shit on behalf of Reagan. George HW Bush won on Kinder Gentler America and the Clintons were later criticized for taking baby steps on divisive issues. There were guys like Limbaugh on the radio though.
I agree that the Left was pretty ugly during the Bush Jr admin and mostly afterwards.
From the POV of the politically fed up, the two sides are unacceptably bad. Nobody has to pick one, you can hold out for acceptable . Sinema and Hogan were decent.b
Silence isn't Violence and we are currently not in a Civil War where we have to pulverize the opposition . We have stupid young Black men shooting up the cities and stupid young White men shooting at authority figures. We have Left expressing content for Whites and Right expressing contempt for DEI hires. It's hard to get worked up over the current crusade.
