I agree. At the civic level, it all hangs on the notion of whatever diversity of background you have, we all share the same first principle. As an aside, it's part of why naturalization is important, by giving the immigrant applicant a preliminary indoctrination in the theory of what we're about and how we conduct ourselves. Mass immigration as we've experienced removes this component, which enables a tribalism or balkanization of groups. I believe it's an arrow aimed at the very concept of the nation-state itself (and why we see it destroying Europe as well).

But more to your point, I have been warning for my entire adult life that with each swing of the power pendulum back and forth, the reactionary push causes it to swing with greater momentum each time. Any oscillating machine eventually flies to pieces.

It's looking like the right doesn't want transgenderism gone, or even shrunk, but rather, for both to be stuck in a symbiotic reaction (an outrage cycle) to each other, while fixing nothing. The only problem, from the perspective of the right, is that transgenders aren't playing their assigned "role" of boogeyman "properly" in this relationship. This would just make the right a protest movement.
