The US military may very much likely lose a war against the likes of China with the number of subversives in its ranks. There are so many ways for comprised members of the military to degrade its performance during war short of actual disobedience and treason.

It goes to the top, as we saw in term one when the generals lied to Trump and didn't do what he ordered them to, then bragged about it to journalists later. Ideally Trump would bring in Erik Prince as Lord of War (Hegseth can stay as secretary) and task him with removing 50% of all people in the military while making it 200% more lethal.
