Another reason I think is that the left has been taking L after L since November, at least in their minds. They've been consumed by infighting and their media bubbles have become shriller and shriller about how Orange Hitler is constantly trampling on them and getting away with it, and they've been left to stew and seethe this whole time without a release valve. Almost every protest against Trump has been cringe zero energy boomers, except briefly the ICE riots which died down quickly. They've exploded like this because they've been feeling especially pathetic and impotent lately and they all want to vicariously live through this moment of owning one of the arch-chuds and are too retarded to fully understand the implications of legitimizing widespread political violence.
