It took my a long time to learn how to temper my urge (still not that good at it) to give my opinion forcefully. As I've gotten older I think it is more important to enjoy interacting with people, than to destroy them with facts and logic. I find I am more able now to sort of observe the structure of people's beliefs, which can be boring if they are boring, but then you don't hang out with those guys I guess.

The thing I always think about is like, say you destroy someone's core belief with facts and logic, and leave them speechless, the best case scenario, what are you then left with? Someone, presumably your friend, who is in a state of confusion and cognitive dissonance? Its not really a desirable outcome. Like an athiest arguing an old lady out of her relgion.

To me, it's because it feels like this is a complete change to the rules of engagement moving forward that leftists just don't grasp yet. The ramifications of Charlie's killing and the reaction that followed will be felt for years to come. It will be referenced and brought up in elections, and it will be used as justification for any violence that happens in the future.

Yes. There's a difference dancing on the grave of a tranny that ate lead for breakfast, or a terrorist, or an illegal drowning in a boat and dancing on the grave of someone with a different opinion.

People shouldn't be murdered for their opinions.

Laughing at Charlie's death, calling him a fascist with zero evidence, saying he deserved it with reasonings like "live by the sword, die by the sword."

The tough part is I've known some of these people for decades, and they're generally pleasant people otherwise. I love them. But man, it's really worrying to see the political poisoning show up in real life to people you know and love.

I dunno, just using this thread as a pressure valve since I try and avoid politics in real life for obvious reasons. It's all so tiresome, bros.

I'm just wondering how we got here, and one theory is that politics globally have gone to a right wing vs left wing thinking, and there are just two tribes. When i was young and at that age (like 14) when kids nowdays come out as genderfluid aro-ace, I came out as anarcho-syndicalist. In retrospect it was way healthier to read about political theories to identify with than sexualities. Just having red team and blue team is so limiting.
 
I’m listening to a woman grieve on camera her husband who was assassinated for his words while I look at a 3D printed copy some faggot on Twitter made of his assassination.

I cannot in proper words express how much I want these mean-spirited and hate-filled parasites on humanity to end their lives.

For one there is no evidence he was pro-2A at all (reminder that there was a sped who shot up a bank to make an argument about gun control). Secondly even if he was pro-gun, pro-gun leftists exist. Hopefully, they'll all be like how some people say the teachers in Oklahoma will be, they're mostly too dumb and don't have the theory of mind to create a story like that and won't say or agree with things they don't believe in. There will be smart ones of course, but you'd think they would be smart enough not to kill people.
But then again, this one was supposedly decently smart.

Wouldn't matter because none of the people I know that are grave dancing are employed anyway lol, but if they were no or at least I wouldn't be the one reporting them because I'm not going to become a breaker of trust in private conversations to narc on someone I disagree with. If the friend is dumb enough to post it publicly under their own name then God help them but none that I know are thankfully.

Im more curious what effect he expected this to have. I think the right wing in America has been focused on death martyrdom civil war and all that for ages. did he really think everyone would just ... stop because some fag shot a political figure on the right? it speaks to such an utter lack of understanding as to not even have read the sparknotes of what a group is like. i think the only group this would be less effective with is trying to threaten an islamic suicide bomber.

I agree with the overall context, but the actual massacre is still distasteful. I am more examining my emotional reaction to two separate massacres, in which none of the victims deserved to be randomly gunned down.

I’m not sure if you’re trolling or not. But I’ll give this a shot. Let’s fully remove current trends while keeping it in the realm of politics. If I told you Julius Caesar was stabbed to death in 44 BC, and then I told you it was perpetrated by turbo MRGA Julius Caesar loving Chuds. Does that make sense to you? Or does it make more sense that Caesar was killed by his political rivals who had lots of reasons to want him dead? Which do you think is more likely?
