Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Aka: Baby's first ((((mature / dark)))) game.
Aka: Zone-tan saved this game's entire image/reputation for all the people that had their brains rewired due to early porn exposure.
Pros:
- Dark(ish) story. (In reality, the story is nonsensical and has a lot of
- Dungeons are mostly ok(ish).
- The Manga: Rewrites in the Manga that changed Minda and Link drastically to give them a romance. (Similar dynamics/feelings to early Bleach (up to SS arc and no further) with Ichigo and Rukia. Which is interesting since it was written around the same time).
Cons:
- Plays it safe and tries to shadow Oot as best it can, giving the game the feeling of not having a true identity, but rather being a game made in response to retards hating WW, rather than being driven by a genuine artistic vision.
- No Theme to the game, everything is just bad writing. This happens, then this happens and then this happens, etc...
- Opening of the game feels like a tech demo for the Wii and take very very long, playing on Gamecube it has no gimmic fun due to no waggle tech.
- Worst Stealth sections in franchise history
- Mandatory Bug chases are worse than Triforce Hunting by far.
- Graphics looked bad on release and have not stood the test of time. Older non-cel shaded games like Majora/OoT that it tries to mimic look better and cleaner to this day.
- Bloom, extreme darkness, and the ugly tint over the world make everything look lifeless.
- Character models/art style are not consistent. Take a look at the baby shopkeeper and tell me that it feels like it exists in the same world as the model right next to it.
- Midna's human form looks really ugly and strange.
- The worst Zelda in history, a true Macguffin with the personality of a board.
- None of the NPCs acknowledge major events that happen. ( deaths in Kakariko or Hyrule Castle's siege no one mentions the castle burned right in front of them).
- Wolf Link
- Quick Time events galore. Every time Wolf Link does platforming it is just you mashing A to jump in a QTE no thought.
- Forced Platforming to Wolf Link so you can cross ropes slowing down the game.
- Combat System for Link is a massive downgrade from the previous game.
- Auto Shield at ALL Times when you lock-on.
- Minda (in game was annoying and playing it again, people like to rewrite her with headcanon porn personality. In the actual game she is not anything special and is pretty boring -> annoying. A Navi replacement. Not to mention takes up an Entire button on the controller.)
- Needing to shove Ganon in the end out of nowhere with little to no build up making the main villian you fight the entire game Zant nothing but a loopy jobber with no presence.
- Canon to story that Oot Link died a virgin retard to a nameless faceless soldier on the battlefield. It is so bad that people are still convinced and trying to convince people that NO HE GOT WITH MALON, when nothing in the game points to that ever. (Sorry for ruining it for you.)
- Items are only good for the dungeon it is found in. It really is one of the worse examples of this design flaw.
- As a Sequel to Oot it fails story wise and essientially tells you that nothing that Oot/Majora did had any effect on the world, Ganon getting imprisoned and nameless solider are the only true connections story wise.
- Twilight Princess is the 3D Formula at its worst. (Not to say its the worst 3D Zelda but the Formula/recipe from Oot is at its worst).
If you disagree with this you are a retard, have nostalgia bias, never actually played the game, or a porn addict.
Replay the OG game and you'll see.
Also it seems that even Nintendo knows that Midna's personality and character were not great in Twilight Princess, since all the Spin-offs that she's appeared in since then, like Hyrule Warriors, seems to rewrite her to be more of her Manga-self.
A great video that covers much of this and should help people that need a refresher on how bad TP was is this:
