Nigel Farage said Britain was at “war with freedom” as he prepared to testify in US Congress over limits to free speech.

The Reform UK leader is at a hearing this morning in Washington, raising concerns about British restrictions on freedom of speech in the US.

Mr Farage has raised the case Graham Linehan, the Father Ted creator, who was arrested by five armed officers over posts he made on X about transgender people. Mr Farage earlier described Linehan’s arrest as a “war on freedom”.

He also mentioned the case of Lucy Connolly, who was jailed over a social media post in the wake of the Southport attacks, and subsequently accused Sir Keir Starmer of holding her as a “political prisoner”. The British politician said he had intended to bring Mrs Connolly, but she was unable to travel to the States, owing to her conviction.

Speaking at this morning’s hearing, Mr Farage said free speech was based on “principles that [we] will fight and defend to the death your right to say something that we fundamentally disagree with.”

He added: “That is the absolute foundation, if you think about it, of free speech, of democracy, of living in freedom.”

why do britbong media outlets constantly call their PM "SIR keir starmer"?
i don't remember them doing this back when it was theresa may in charge, or david cameron, or tony blair, or ed milliband, or whoever.
did they always do this and i just never noticed? or is this new?

He has a knighthood, so he gets to be called Sir.

Used to be they gave those out to important and outstanding people only, but for the last 40 or so years any fuckers can get it.

Like Sir Archibald Ramsey, a duly elected and knighted war veteran politician in the 1940s - whom the kike loving kinslayer Winston Churchill jailed without trail or recourse because Ramsey was talking too openly about the blatant Rothschild jew co-opting the London Banking System.

Oy vey! The more you Notice.

As usual, conservatives are half right: the British government is at war with the freedom of its own people. It's certainly not at war with the freedom of the Third World hordes it's unleashed on the populace.

Anarcho-tyranny means there are those the law binds but does not protect, and those the law protects but does not bind. It would be better to say that the British government is at war with the British.

They gave him a title to legitimize him as PM.

There was a funny movie idea about dragons coming to Earth and only proper knights can defeat them so it's everyone with a "Sir" and you would have Kier Starmer, Hellen Mirren and Kenneth Branagh try to kill a fucking dragon.
I would watch that.

Whoa buddy, are you seriously saying our honours system has been devalued?!

Look, Pete Tong earned that MBE (seriously, look it up) , and I will defend it to the death!

Its also always worth remembering that the matter of principle on which Winston Churchill left the conservative party in 1904 was asylum laws and immigration. He said, among other things, that anti-immigration laws favored "labour prejudice against competition". To good old Winston, competition between workers for jobs between the native-born and immigrants was a wonderful thing.

Historical revisionism aside, there was nothing ever conservative about Winston Churchill. Not ever.

Kind of wish Farage brought up the Farms/4chan lawsuit against the UK.

Farage specifying what a lolcow is would be hilarious.
Hard agree. How can you sit there and argue that Britain is at war with freedom of speech of US citizens and not mention the fact their government is actively going out of its way to censor American websites that has content on it they don't agree with. It should be a huge deal right now since they're threatening to levy fines against American websites that don't follow the UKs standard for censorship.

I feel like it was heavily implied, but the best we'll probably get is OFCOM. This might blow up into some extremely funny mentions in the media yet though.

In other terms, the Airstrip One regime is sowing the wind. In due time they will reap the whirlwind.

I’d watch dragons eat kier starmer, yes. Mirren could probably stab one with her seven inch stripper heels.
