>Trump wants US to be more self reliant
>Countries force US to be more self reliant
4D chess?
The more I learn about trump and business negotiators in general, i'm realizing that to them this isn't 4d chess. It's basic logic, trump probably just assumes everyone knows what he's doing because it's so second nature to him.
-Trump wants EU countries to spend more on military budget.
-
The reason he wants this is because he isn't certain that america can defend them and deal with china at the same time and we might have to pull some forces out.
-World chimps out.
-Trump pulls US forces out because we need to deal with china.
-EU comes to the conclusion that the united states can't defend them and deal with china at the same time, starts to rearm themselves.
It's not 4d chess. It's not even chess, it's checkers or tic tac toe.
"We need to change X because if we don't Y is going to happen... Oh you don't want to change X? Well here's Y." two weeks later in the media:
"it's time to get used to a world in which Y is happening."
There was no trick played here, no unique dynamic or bait, it's just trump doing what he said he was going to do for the reasons he said he was going to do them and people slowly realizing he's fucking right and doing what he wanted. We overcomplicate this shit.
It really is just a transaction: "I will give you this amount of apples if you give me this amount of money, but if you only give me half that money I will only be able to give you half of the apples because i will need to sell the other half of the apples to somebody else".
He campaigns the same way.
T
rump: There are too many foreigners coming in so we're going to deport them.
Media: He doesn't really mean that, what does he actually mean, who is he trying to win over? Does he want a labor shortage? What's the angle?
Voters: Vote for trump because they want illegals deported
Media: Why did they vote for trump? Do we need a left wing joe rogan? Is it because zoomers don't get laid?
Trump: *deports illegals*
Media: THE PEOPLE WILL BE ANGRY ABOUT THIS!
Voters: *don't get angry*
The guy is just simple enough to live in the real world while the rest of us are playing by all of these invisible rules that nobody else agreed to, that nobody else plays by, nobody respects, nobody rewards US for playing by, and basically don't even exist.
