Intel is bigger than AMD anyway. They would make this choice reguardless of AMD's current standing. Intel has always been the Heavy Hitter, AMD was the second source contractor that got lucky by latching onto some patents and signing a suicide pact with the X86 stuff.
They don't just buy Dell though. They buy Dell+Intel+Microsoft. Dell actually sells Linux machines. Businesses don't buy them. Businesses don't use LibreOffice even though it's completely free. We could see businesses accepting Dell+AMD+Microsoft, but it's not clear that's going to happen at this point.

i agree it's not clear. i don't think linux/windows vs amd/intel is quite the same argument either, since linux and windows have a learning curve if you have no experience with one or the other, but there's no learning curve for an AMD or Intel cpu, your microsoft word doc works just fine on either one. theo nly thing that most office supply purchases are looking at is 'does this have enough horsepower to actually run my programs' and at this point a chromebook has that power, so if dell themselves just switched to a majority amd ecosystem (i don't believe they have or signaled they would, just that they're more willing to work with non-intel developers/manufacturers now) most businesses, once they go out and buy a new suite of call center PCs, will just switch to AMD without even realizing. intel's name never mattered to most business computer buyers. dell's did.

you don't even need to be that modern. when africans were discovered by european colonial powers, they had no empires, they had no sprawling territories, they had no real weapons beyond the basic spears and bow and arrow implements they used (slings and other similar tech too of course) and they had no idea how to fight any kind of mid or large-scale war, or even any idea of long-term betterment of their natural surroundings for the easement of their day to day activities.
Yeah. Nature provided everything they needed. They didn't need to expand out nearly as much. Food is everywhere, and so is shelter. It doesn't snow or anything, so shelter doesn't have to be that sophisticated. Its a lazy lifestyle.
