They had no reason to plan, so their ability to forward think atrophied and died. It's an adaptation to their stagnant ancestral environment. Places where it gets cold and you have to plan for winter or die required greater ability to weigh possibility and set a path or goals. It's understandable that their languages would reflect that, but even using English and other languages that have a concept of planning, it can't undo the damage that must be genetically ingrained or at least epigenetically.

It kinda makes sense as they didn't need to worry about shit long term. They didn't need to do shit like stockpile for the winter their society is basic enough that people didn't worry about the standing of their family in future generations and there wasn't really ways for parents to invest into their children to grant them better opportunities. As long as they are having kids they are doing fine. Also given all the big bad predators around they probably had a "shit happens" attatude when one of them get eaten rather than plan more permanent solution to the problem. I think there is a theory that Scandinavian people are more charitable because they were forged in a frozen hellscape and if they didn't help each other then they would all mutually die. People and cultures reflect their environments.
tbh they're completely right. We keep trying to predict stuff, we get it wrong. We gather data on jobs or the economy, it's all complete garbage, just noise. No one knows what will happen. Just embrace the endless now.
