Insights from someone who actually lives there
1) It's most likely a bluff, Mr Cheeto flexing to get something out of Maduro. We're already jaded and tired of others bluffing just to end up in a nothingburger so I'll assume this is no different.
2) Maduro is still shitting his pants, you can see it if you watch any recent speech, the fat bastard looks hungover and it's obvious he hasn't slept for days.
3) The "4 gorillion militiamen" are a fucking joke. We call them "miliancianos" (literally "militiOLDmen") because they're old farts, and they only "joined" the militias because they'd have lost any welfare benefits they depend on otherwise. They're not well trained, I'd say most aren't even armed, if anything their function is snitching on "dissidents" or whatever.
4) Even the "regular" army isn't that well trained. I've met people who served and they're NOT well fed, not well paid either. Their only "job" is getting bribes and shooting unarmed protesters. As for the generals, they're nepo... Not babies, rotting carcasses, old, fatass guys who got there by being friends of Chavez.
5) Maduro isn't popular, everyone hates him except for the asskissers (usually old Karens who got a bit of power and snitch on people, and also distribute welfare packages). Chavismo is just a big cartel and they're ready to stab eachothers back the moment they can see any kind of gain. The 50 mil reward won't be enough, they make more than that with drugs, I'm guessing they expect some lower ranking official who constantly gets screwed up by the higher ups to snitch or whatever, but it's unlikely because there's a lot of fear and paranoia among the lower ranked guys (and like half of them are just regular thugs with a military uniform)
6) Is an military intervention likely? Not really, I'm sure Maduro will chicken out and Trump will chicken out too. But if it were to happen we already voted for a new president back in 2024, but the election was obviously rigged and if you dared to complain, you'd get shot. But I don't see it happening simply because Maduro isn't really a threat, remember when he was sperging about invading Guyana? And it ended up being a nothingburger, just like everything else in this rotten piece of land.
7) Wagner is allegedly present in Venezuela. They and the FAES (death squads) are the only ones who might fight back but even then it's unlikely they'll win.
