I live in a moderately sized town, not massive, but not po-dunk, and I can't say the same for our mall.

There are never tons of blacks in our mall. The owners of the mall aren't from around here and are perpetually raising the rent on the vendors. It's been an almost yearly occurrence for a store to close in the mall and open up in another building nearby because they just can't afford what the mall wants to charge them.

I like our mall so it sucks there's basically nothing to do there.

The malls nearby me are thriving and have been since my early childhood but the closing of decades-long veteran stores suggests the leasing is becoming more expensive and less attractive. Of course, I think it helps to have an industrially diverse (no, not nigger worship diversity) area with tons of traffic consistently throughout the day. I don't think malls survive on their own as much as they could and not due to online shopping but because of healthy and varied industry in the surrounding area that incentivizes walking.

Without PL, I'm nearly always against Rx appetite suppressants and most cases of bariatric surgery. The former have a a raft of side effects, the later have like a (in reality, not massaged) 10% surgery efficacy rate after like 5 years. No one changes their habits and they gain everything back, plus the issues caused by the loss and regain.

With that said, the question here is whether the recipients/beneficiaries being fat is a larger drain on the system than the negotiated cost of the shots and any potential side effects. Feel free to disagree, but I feel like the reduction in costs down stream from the patients being fat could FAR outstrip the costs of the shots. (My preference would be the shuttering of Medicaid as it ties to the federal level, but the votes required make that a non-option). Of the options available, paying for fat shots might be the best one.

When food is cheap and plentiful, people need to be educated about how to calorie count and they need to exercise self control over the long term. That's not easy, and people need help and support sometimes to do it. A big problem with that is our entire advertising industry exists to short circuit people's attempts at exercising self-control. I'm not super enthusiastic about the idea of regulating the content of the ads, or paying tax money for fat drugs, so fuck if I know how to handle the issue on the national level. I'm only barely handling it on the personal level.

Even if you regulated ads, it's amazing how fucking often people offer you free food all the time. Random doughnuts or cake or pretzels show up everywhere. You can't regulate temptation away.

well it's a sad fact that unhealthy goy slop is far cheaper then real food.

When sugar laden foods are plentiful, cheap and offered pretty much everywhere it's not a surprise that the lower classes get fat.

Back in time a fat person was considered attractive because it meant you had the wealth to over eat. Now it's a physically fit person because it means you have the brains and the will to maintain your health by eating well and exercising.

This is so whack, were being fit and able is the extreme rather then the norm.

He's absolutely going to try and run, but he's far from the most likely candidate. Bloomberg spent a Billion dollars in the 2020 primary to get 7% of the vote.

He has zero chance if they can't deprogram the ProPalestine fervor out of the base, and the base thinks their time is nigh despite spiking 2024 so hard Trump won the popular vote.

2028 Democratic Primary is going to be so good to watch, you have no idea.
