At risk of turning this into a Mega Man thread, I'm more of an X fan. I feel like it nailed a lot of the mechanics that the OG series wanted for. Not to downplay the quality of most of the OG series, I just feel like it doesn't hold up as well outside of the first 3 (or 4, I could be convinced).
This just furthers evidence of him not wanting to actually play games anymore. He clearly doesn't give a shit and he wishes his audience didn't either. I think that's probably why he didn't have a game lined up after the Luto finale. My personal theory is that he wanted to workshop the viability of a "Chill with Phil" stream as a long term gameplay replacement.

Anyone who didn't watch this marathon man he is absolutely fucking miserable to the extreme. Much much worse than what he is on a usual streaming day.

I can't imagine being showered with money and acting like that, looking like someone served you a plate of turds or something. I only unironically watch a couple streamers but they all enthusiastically shout out any contributions they get, and if someone is particularly generous will make a big deal out of it to show they appreciate it.
DSP hates his "job" but knows he can always count on a few whales to pay for his mature, adult lifestyle. That won't last forever, however. We've seen whales vanish over time and it'll just keep happening, and I think he knows that but rather than plan for it and save money he just really really hates being in the pocket of his dents. This is why he's such an asshole over the dumbest shit (someone asks him what his favorite X is and he belittles them for their 'stupid question'), acts like a spoiled brat and acts like he's owed everything he gets.
He has that roach luck so part of me expects to be outlived by DSP, I just hope every waking moment of that life is fully of misery, paranoia and self loathing.

Him sitting on that $99 bucks for an hour was crazy it was a superchat we all saw and his chat spent the entire hour talking about it instead of the gameplay so he effectively derailed his own chat. Any other streamer even ones with 10k viewers shouts out $100 unless they are in an intense gaming situation or something DSP was staring at the chat paused plenty of time during that hour and he still didn't say shit.
Pretty clear at this point he just gets told on discord the money is coming and he can't even be bothered to care anymore. Wish they gave him $10k tbh it would've been even funnier seeing the #1 weekend event ranking for Champions.

Phil clocked out of his Mega Man save scum marathon with $1071. That's his tally, so it doesn't include any "troll tips" he didn't count as well as any mistakes he made. I noticed one time when he was over $600, he actually ended up subtracting $5 from the total, claiming he couldn't read the numbers because he was too drunk. Couldn't say how many other times he may have done that, since I just happened to catch that one during the 10 minutes or so I could bear to watch.

I am somewhat convinced about the ironic anti detractor part but also there might be a person or two who just pretend to be Phil's "ideal fan" and give him money unquestionably.
That may sound stupid until you remember there were people like amityville and others on his tumbleweed forums who did the exact same thing but without really getting financially involved. They did the "ideal fan" bullshit for years just to fuck with him.
