Thank you for the explanation. It makes sense when you explain that but man, Democrats really are the sorest losers. Do they commonly do this in Texas or is this the first time? I wouldn't be surprised if they do this every few months.
Commonly? Depends on how you define that I guess. They ran away back in 2021, but before that the last time I can think of was in 2002. But don’t quote me on that, I’m not exactly long in the tooth so if older or more informed Kiwis say differently I’d listen to them.

I don't know if you're still mentally stuck in 2015 or too young to remember it, but people don't believe in this wolf anymore.
The Hispanics mostly assimilated and actually broke majority R in 2024 in Texas, the issue is that, aside from non-christians and africans who assimilate into blacks that vote 80% D, children and grandchildren of immigrants tend to go along with the successful native culture. The real threats down there now are Pakis and Hindus who will never assimilate because they fuck goats and worship cows. 75% of 1st gen immigrants vote blue, which is why allowing immigration at all is murder-suicide on part of the Republican party.

Don't know the best place to post this since there's no articles yet, so posting this here. Federal California Judge ordered Workday Incorporated to produce a list of all their customers who use their AI to decide whether to approve or deny job applications

Fucking nice, the job application process right now is a complete and utter shitshow, I support any transparency or attempts to tear it down

The gerrymandering shit is mega gay IMO, but I can't really think of a simple solution. Both sides do it and they probably will until I'm dead. I remember when Desantis and republicans actually un-gerrymandered Florida because doing so would help Reps and the Dems screeched, it was pretty funny. Dem's keep clamoring for "Independent and unbiased 3rd parties" to make the districts, like those people exist. Even if they did exist there will certainly be times where there are arguably good reasons for districts to be one way that supports Dems or another way that supports Rep. It's a tricky thing that honestly can't go away unless we completely re-haul the election system or base it solely on mathematical geograpy, which I don't think is realistic. I guess we will see what happens, maybe we will get 55D California after all.

Leftist goes on a rant against the LA City Council for not doing enough to fight ICE.

"Do not start my time until I have EVERYBODY'S ATTENTION... Our fight is with ICE."

You can learn so much from the subtleties of things like this.

>I demand!
-This has worked at every other point in her life which is basically just college and maybe an HR job.

>You work for us!
-This gets updoots online and claps at the bar so she thinks it will work here.

>I know your job is like parks and rec!
-She gets everything she knows about the world from TV shows.

>You're putting Cops' lives in danger
-Admitting her side is violent and dangerous and can't pick their targets properly. As if we didn't know that already.

>You know who hasn't had a summer break?
-This was the line she spent months coming up with and thought it was gold. This was the entire reason she came here today and definitely wants to get it in but doesn't know where to go from there because to her generation speeches=tweets.

>Our fight is not with the LAPD we like them!
-Ceding territory. MMMMM i love seeing this and we've been seeing so much of it since november. Your fight sure as shit was with LAPD 5 years ago wasn't it? Suddenly All Cops Aren't Bastards I guess, it's just some of the specific ones you don't like. 4 months from now they'll be saying "look our problem isn't with ALL ICE agents we like the ones deporting violent criminals just... we want like more oversight and stuff and we only dislike the bad ones.

It's like watching them collectively walk through denial and realize they're in a nightmare and don't control things anymore.

In a ideal world gerrymandering wouldn't be necessary, sadly we don't live in such a place. The Republican Party shouldn't hamstring itself in the name of "fairness" when Democrats are content to make the West Coast and a portion of New England into political fiefdoms. Trying to uphold some code of honor or gentleman's agreement when your opposition doesn't is a good way to get destroyed.

HA, if this is true, I wonder if some one snuck in a "Well, Jews are White now, so any anti-sematic laws also apply to White people" type of thinking.
In the eyes of the democrats they are the same now, so hopefully we see some stuff like that in the future

Here is a recent statement from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on the Democrat politicians leaving the state to avoid redistricting situation:

Attorney General Ken Paxton Releases Statement Regarding Rogue Democrat Lawmakers Who Fled Texas to Break Quorum

Attorney General Ken Paxton issued the following statement in response to the radical Democrat members of the Texas House of Representatives who fled the state to break quorum.

“Instead of showing up to work and doing the jobs they were elected to do, House Democrat members have fled the state in a cowardly desertion of their responsibilities as elected officials. These jet-setting runaways abandoned Texas, abdicated their duties in the House, and sacrificed their constituents for a publicity stunt,” said Attorney General Paxton. “I am prepared to do everything in my power to hold them accountable because these liberal lawmakers are not above the law. It’s imperative that they be swiftly arrested, punished, and face the full force of the law for turning their backs on the people of Texas.”

In 2021, Attorney General Paxton's office successfully secured a Texas Supreme Court ruling that held that the House could arrest absent members to secure their presence and establish a quorum. That ruling helped create the current legal framework, which allows for rogue lawmakers to be found, arrested, and brought back to the Capitol. Attorney General Paxton will continue to use every legal tool at his disposal to enforce the law and stop the radical lawmakers from ignoring their duty to the people of Texas and breaking quorum.

“The suiclde rate is so incredibly high among transgender people… we could just use them like the Taliban uses suiclde bombers!”

Pretty based
How did we end up in this based timeline? Truly, we do not deserve it.
