Aluminum for cooking isn't really much of an issue. The main thing it'd shed is aluminum oxide or "alumina" which is widely present all over the planet. It's one of the main components of clay. Tin is way more expensive and melts at low temperatures(for a metal, it melts at around the same temp as lead which you can melt on a stovetop), also tin is prone to being more brittle. I just use parchment paper though, it's properly non-stick for my baking needs and it's just paper.

All of these are non Orthodox sources but even outside of my specific religion, I fail to see how simulation theory is any different from creationism. It replaces God with a Programmer and that's about it. The biggest difference is moral, in creationism morality is prescriptive while in simulation theory humans are left to form their own morals

I think there’s a bit of oversimplification in these posts, but the gist of it is correct. Simulation theory has a really strong religious component and it mixes aspects of Judeo-Christian creationism and predetermination in an easy-to-digest consoomerist package (at least in Western culture). We can go back and forth on the validity of the theory, but I think all sides can agree it reflects something deep in the human psyche. I’m pretty sure I read it in this thread, but there was that author who described humans having a “god-shaped hole” in their hearts or something? It feels like humanity is constantly reinventing the wheel when it comes to what’s basically metaphysics (extra funny given simulation theory proponents tend to be (philosophical) materialist atheists).

Also hot take: The Matrix is an overrated and unoriginal film series that thinks it’s smarter than it really is.

It’s always been happening, but it seems worse nowadays. Every avenue of parental advice, anywhere someone posts a question about their kid looking for ways to handle whatever it is, and EVERY time it’s “have you had them evaluated? It sounds like ADHD/Autism…” I’ve seen this said for kids younger than 2.

Don’t know if it’s malicious, pharma industry plants trying to herd sheep in the right direction, or sunk-cost moms who believed the machine and lobotomized their toddlers so think other women should too, but it’s horrifying. Every normal child behavior, every personality quirk, every odd preference or activity enjoyment is medicalized and must be eradicated. Meds on meds on meds. And then come the therapists. Occupational therapists, play therapists, social therapists, speech therapists for kids who are barely learning to talk… it’s insane.

All these little kids growing up thinking there’s something inherently wrong with them when it’s just their spastic parents being socially pressured by “if you don’t get them early intervention, they’ll be ruined for life! You trust the doctors, don’t you? They went to SCHOOL! They know more than you!”
