Since we're talking about ADHD and drugs, I've had some thoughts more recently in relation to newer generation drugs that'd make MKUltra's godfathers blush. Namely I've been thinking about advances in molecular biology and our understanding of the many mechanisms of the brain and body in relation to it. Our ability to produce peptides(small protein chains, insulin is a kind of peptide and is also a hormone) has improved drastically since the days of the infamous CIA op. Ozempic is a recent example of what a fully synthetic peptide can do, working as both a diabetes treatment and proper hunger suppressant.

Now, with drugs like EA-3167 and BZ which were experimented with before, I can't help but wonder if more research is being done in secret for better drugs to alter behavior. EA-3167 was so horrifying in its ability to fuck with people that its effects would persist long after the initial exposure, suggesting it altered the brain's chemistry for some time. Now these drugs were just more simple compounds, but we have the ability to make compounds that can be mechanistic and can even alter gene expression to enact more permanent changes. That's not even getting into potential gene therapy techniques.

I have a suspicion that if there was going to be an MKUltra 2 then they'd seek to contaminant drugs being sold in the drug trade. Seeing as social media is so full of people sharing their lives it could be orchestrated that some agent who is working as/with a drug dealer and knows potential clients who overshare on social media ends up dosing drugs sold to them so that the changes in their behavior can be monitored. The CIA certainly has a history of working intimately with drug traffickers, so that's not outside of the realm of possibility.

As to why? Well if some obvious degenerate loser develops schizophrenia after smoking weed or doing crack then who cares? They're easy targets for this kind of research and the drug trade has already had so many instances of synthetic drugs from drug dealers absolutely fucking people over. One example is MPTP which could give people Parkinson's-like symptoms after just ONE use(depends on dosage, obviously) and has been linked to over 100 people being diagnosed with Parkinson's. The leading theory for why a bunch of junkies were fucked by it is that MPPP, a synthetic drug that works similar to morphine, was being used and improperly made MPPP will make some MPTP.
