The first time someone said "Check this shit out" and put on Burzum, I was convinced they were fucking with me. It was like the Shaggs of black metal. I've loved Varg ever since, am glad he is more broadly recognized as a lolcow nowadays, and very much hope to see a thread for him in the Prospering Grounds.

Black metal is the Shaggs of metal. Any good black metal is good despite being black metal, and usually because of interesting non black metal elements used.
