Late stage Bush was already starting to delve into Rage-Driven Virtue Signaling instead of actual humor. I had a proto-shit lib relative who gave me a "Bushisms" calendar during Dubya I, and while a few were taken out of context they were mostly about the word play and Bush mangling dad jokes, little things to get a grin. They gave me another one during Dubya II and like half of them had footnotes about how Bush was lying in the quote. They weren't trying to be humorous, just give you a daily minute of hate against Dubya.
To be fair, "That's My Bush!" was more of a parody of sitcoms, using all the tropes found in the genre. "Everybody Loves Al" would've been the final name had Gore won.
