💰 Grifter Sam Hyde / Samuel Whitcomb Hyde / Million Dollar Extreme (MDE) / COM98 / 1Team / HydeWars / alienmode / @wigger / 'The Candyman' - Millennial anti-humorist, Carnegie Mellon University art student, 'World Peace' writer and creator, born-again Christian and groyper convert. The Marky Post to End All Marky Posts.

He can thank his festering personality disorder for those outcomes.

I watched the original MDE on TV when it came out, and have always thought Sam has solid instincts when it comes to creating unique, avant garde-esque concepts for visual arts/comedy writing/art direction, but cinematography and other positive characteristics of his art, without fail, get drowned out by weirdly sinister foibles on his part.

It's happened so many times it just starts to seem like he can't control his ego/urge to control, and just masks it with the "ooOoOohhHHhh is it irony or am I serious???" schtick, or by playing philosopher and framing whatever actions as a 'principled stance' or 'staying to to the art' or whatever the fuck, depending on the situation.

The Marky rumors/allegations/lore and associated subject matter are also very, very off putting. I've gone back and forth about it over the years but there's enough specificity and circumstantial material shared about the situation that it's plausible it happened, and he has to know that it's never going to just go away on its own.
If you've watched enough weird foreign arthouse films then his work is familiar - not in what it is as he does have a unique thing to say and a way to say it but purely by the fact that a lot of it risks being 2 esoteric 4 u. There's tons of art house and short films that are similar.

They're fun to watch because they're always interesting and some are super great while many are pretty mediocre.

One thing that can be said about Sam's stuff is that it is unique - it was weird to see him walk onto what was essentially a fucking podcast that was sponsored by Wix. That's like the corporate equivalent of being sponsored by Unregistered Hypercam 2.

In a way it's almost possible he did the most cliche thing possible of "flipping the desk". I know he kind of desperately wants to go on Joe Rogan but as others have said the cost to get there is to suck some dick in the form of Wix or Squarespace

It was only a matter of time that sam would chimp out. Niggers are his spirit animal, of course he’s going to act like one in times of great danger.

I'm not sure how much love and care went into it, but I'll pirate it at some point.
Media for anyone inclined, I suppose.

They released it in the middle of the latest season. As for what it is? idk havent played it. Its already been bootlegged.

Yeah and I've seen some people say the desk had tens of thousands of dollars of recording equipment which I doubt. The desk seemed to be put down quite gracefully so it's unlikely there's even significant damage to begin with (to be clear I haven't watched the whole thing).

I think Sam was maybe expecting a pissed off reaction and Harland didn't do anything to react which just made Sam look dumb. The desk is replaceable within a day or two and it wouldn't require him much effort.

It ends up looking like Sam trying to pull a bit completely alone and failing. But I guess they can't all be winners.
Sam was clearly very upset at not being able
to get a reaction out of someone by being le racist and carayzee 🤪 for once and very pathetically tried to, if you'll excuse the phrase, flip the table on him but it was completely ineffectual, and trying to "The Weak Should Fear the Strong"-arm him after that failed to get a reaction backfired even harder as Harland flipped the Bigdogging back around on him by no-selling it. Just a masterclass in completely disaming this carfeully crafted but shallow image of a tuff guy Sam's tried hard over the last decade to build for himself. A humiliation ritual of his own making.

Harland walked Sam Hyde like a dog. A gorilla dog. But that isn't surprising to me; I think Harland has been absolutely crushing it since he started up the Highway and got back into the limelight. He's got a weird irreverent style. It's an approach reminiscent of Norm MacDonald, although they both have / had very different executions / tones. Been thinking he has been somewhat filling that Norm void in his own unique way for a while now. I don't watch Kill Tony often but whenever Harland is on, I'll actually sit through a good chunk of it.

I ain't a diehard Sam Hyde / MDE fan, but I think they are great in their own way. Nick is often off-the-cuff hilarious and definitely shines in Scuffed Realtor. Charls has an entertaining crackpot conspiracy vibe. Eric nails the roles in skits but seems pretty reserved outside of sketches, kind of a sleeper. All the Alex Schultz standup I've seen is insanely unhinged and entertaining. And I think Sam really hits his stride when he is playing strange, almost horror-tinged characters, like the Guilt Simulator, or just the short videos on Insta they'll post where it is him making the weird constipation face edited behind a peephole of a front door and SFX of someone trying to break in. Or when he goes full goofy with things like Candyman or the Ted Talk.

All the same, I think my favorite aspect of any MDE related content is the epic graphics and animation designs between sketches. The Alex Bot set, for example, was a genius multimedia setup...he is lip-syncing and pantomiming to prerecorded / designed audio, they have 7 camera angles, the MGS style intro, the sound design of all the voice acting. You can tell there was lots of genuine effort put into that. That specific layer of the MDE comedy...the culmination of their multimedia coming together...is really their golden goose. And that's a clear Tim and Eric influence, although when MDE is on point I'd say they have way better editing. (But then have a ton of other shit that looks like mediocre cell phone footage with a murky lens.)

The podcast with them all was definitely entertaining. Harland carried it effortlessly. The MDE crew were too reserved; should've spoken up more. And Sam just seemed paranoid. The numbers are pretty damn good so all in all I'd say they made a success out of it. I imagine they paid him for any gear that got trashed. The desk flip wasn't even that bad, but the whole grabbing Harland and shaking him, then later putting an elbow to his neck just seemed unnecessarily hostile. Nick was visibly having a 15-minute panic attack. I think after sperging out Sam realized Harland had got in his head big time and staggered him, so he tried to smooth it over by inviting him to their comedy show, but by then it was too late. Sorta like the Dennis Reynolds rant in Always Sunny about starter cars, then he looks around and the guy he was screaming it had just walked away, and he realizes he just sounded like a psycho. Harland's team editing out all the plugs was hilarious and seemed like a half-assed gag referencing the very animation shit MDE does I was just praising earlier in this post. But overall Sam just didn't riff well, prime example being the "Cunnilingus County" setup Harland gave him that he completely botched.

A funny joke no one seemed to catch on to or point out...as Sam was flipping the table, Harland was making gorilla noises.

But I'm drunk and rambling. Found the whole thing entertaining. Harland is a gangster. I'll pirate the new Extreme Peace season when it pops up somewhere, I ain't paying for that shit, but definitely wanna watch it.

why does sammy always have zoomers around him? He's just a creepy art kid who's right wing and not a left wing maniac

Sam bringing up muh public schools at the priest rape joke is another example of him being a nigger. He really doesn’t understand per capita.
There was a study done in NY showing that it was substantially higher per capita for public schools but there could be multiple reasons as to why the stats aren't accurate

What are your thoughts on Sam Hyde and his content these days?
I think the line between himself and whatever character he plays is getting a little blurred. I can't tell where the act ends or begins and with what happened recently, the rumors about him being unpredictable look a little more valid.

A real 0 to 100 kind of guy to go gorilla mode at the hangout if someone slightly peeved him with a joke misinterpreted.

My personal theory is that after the show was cancelled and the brand was dragged through the mud, he obviously had to rebuild it but the problem was, was that the editor for nearly all the MDE stuff left Sam and joined up with Charls. I forgot his name, but you'll see his name on alot of the old stuff. So Sam got a bunch of superfans like Jet and Chris to do the same style and for free for the first half. Plus they're junkies so they're easy to control and makes him look more smart.

Catholic priests are no more likely to be pedophiles than other denominations or religions. Educators are more likely to be pedophiles than Catholic priests. These two statements are per capita, but the "100x more likely than Catholics" number is false. It's not that high, but it is higher than 1.
The reason why Catholics get all the attention is that Catholicism is the largest denomination in the U.S., it's been joked about for decades, the coverups and lack of oversight, and it draws away from every other group suffering from coverups and a lack of oversight.
It's also hip and cool to shit on Christianity and allows people to be hip and cool while ignoring the Muslim rape gangs.

Catholics also get a lot of fag pedos because the whole no spouse thing is a great cover for a fag

"Pride doesn't always mean gay. It used to mean proud. It's in the Bible."
Hand to God I've never watched Rogan. I didn't know he was literally a greentext of himself. Is he legit retarded?
He fried his brain with drugs and likely got a lot of money to support certain things but he wasn't always like this. Mad honey and nicotine are apparently disastrous later in life

In his own words it's because older people with the skill set he requires are already tied down to serious projects and don't want to be caught up with his stuff - and if they are available he considers that sort of a red flag because they realistically shouldn't be.

People were wondering when this was filmed, judging by what Sam said about having a show that evening in Culver City, it was either filmed June 20th, 21st, or 22nd. Those were the last days he had gigs in California.

Why didn't he just walk into it like a normal interview? Not everything has to be some killer "but" and if you go through life with that attitude you end up with something like Fishtank.

Like I don't even know this other comedian guy or much about comedians in general but it seems they both have enough reputation to not even need to try and play some sort of stupid mind games. Why couldn't Sam Hyde have just brought up some interesting anecdote or started an interesting conversation?

Anyway this is far from the career killer I think some people think it is. He fucked up hard but I'm not so sure people will remember this a year from now - "oh remember that one time he had an awkward appearance on a podcast" doesn't even come close to marky posting shit.

If Sam Hyde really felt out of place with how commercial it is he could've at least made fun of the sponsors or something funny. I still really don't even know what value he would derive from having what appears to be a relatively obscure comedians podcast give him a shout out?

Sam Hyde if you want to make money, make the episodes free on YouTube and create some kind of cool/fun incentive for people to tip. Depending on appearing on people's podcasts who you don't even like isn't going to get you anywhere. If you clip/title the videos well and they do well on the algorithm way more people will see them than if some random comedians podcast gives them a shout-out.
