I actually can't remember a time I've been this optimistic about the future. Ever since the 1990s I have been watching things in my little corner of the rust belt slowly get shittier and shittier. Abandoned factories and houses slowly taking hold everywhere.
After covid ended industry and the MIC has been trying to re-shore their supply chains which has really boosted things my area. And between factories scalling up and NYC imploding we have everyone trying to move here. Crackhoues that used to sell for 5K at tax auction are now being gutted and refurbed in to nice homes. Every square inch of empty residental land is being devolped.
And now with Trump's policies pushing reshoring hard things have been cranked to up past 11. Giant old mill complexes which have been empty since I was a kid are being redevolped in to hipster studio appartments, or being knocked down to expand industral parks. The big MIC companies will hire anyone with a pulse and are actually doing apprentiship programs again. My company has so much work now we are turning down jobs.
And everytime I go in to doomer mode and start thinking things will now go to shit; IE when we bombed Iran, "Nothing Ever Happens" kicks in, and then things are totally fine the next day.
