To add to this: while it's a cherry-picked sample, I don't recall a single instance of him treating someone as a good faith actor in either this thread or the TCRF one.
You should have interacted with him outside the thread, to be honest. Both in and outside of TCRF and other servers, he always felt a need to come off as a dick unless he genuinely needed help with something, acting like he's the ultimate know-it-all and authority on something. I know spergs naturally sometimes have dickish behavior, but so few are as retardedly arrogant in the way XKeeper is, and it's not like that's a sperg thing in his case; that's just him actually just doing this deliberately, and if the whole
"powerplay" islamic content reading that NoonmanR posted about is to mean anything, he's also getting off on acting like this.
The only time I have seen him act genuinely in what he calls (in his own words) "good faith", was in the NESDev discord server, but that's probably because he doesn't have any sort of power in that place by any means whatsoever. I simply came across it by pure chance too (joining the server fairly recently), and most surprisingly this was posted back on the 1st of June, so only a handful of days before the Jo Li incident. Anyways, he was simply discussing stuff about disassembling a few shitty games for the NES as well as ones that never made it to the USA, ranging from a disassembly of Mighty Bomb Jack he made to Atlantis no Nazo, infamous in Japan for how shitty it is.
I suppose the other contributing factor to him acting sane there is that the staff are 100% adamant about keeping the site neutral in a political sense, same with its users. If I do a little digging it's not hard to find political drama, but it's so quickly shut down and many users just don't want to fucking hear it. In fact, the moderators often cite how "people are here to know about/develop NES games and not politics" which is exactly the same mindset that TCRF should have had, and is also the mindset Jo Li approached the initial drama that started all of this in the first place. But alas, they can't copy the culture of the one goddamn sane community they want to be a part of.
As an aside, it's quite funny how the politically neutral server is considered transphobic because they won't let retards troon out the channels for no good reason every two seconds about shit nobody cares about.
