as much as a pain in the ass as it would be, i think the best set up is having the lists curated per state. red states can ban stuff for children they don't like, and blue states can ban stuff for children they don't like. it's not a perfect system, but that's pretty much how these kind of things work now.

Better still to remove the state's monopoly on education. Why should you need to live in some particular state to be able to choose a school that you believe best offers that kind of education that you wish for your child to receive? Make it impossible for the left to seize institutions by denying them the monolith to control and allow alternatives to exist to show how poorly they do by comparison and they will wither on the vine.

This is literally the same thing we had for "evolution" books in my high school a few decades ago. If kids (/ the kids parents) didn't want to hear about evolution and natural selection, the teacher had a slate of "alternate materials" he kept at his desk which he held in open disdain, and made sure to offer the class the option to read those in the library instead of sitting through class that day.

To wit: The only shocking thing about this is how it got this far, how the left's fag worshipping "I can't believe it's not" religion was treated as a special exemption until whoops it wasn't. The left genuinely believes it has the right and duty to teach belief to your children, and if you object to that belief the parental rights of the teacher override yours.

Question: is it important to learn both, or lean in one direction or another? in Florida, i had to learn evolution, but it could be interpeted as God's way of changing species or something.

I forget, I had a 73 in that class.

So, this month started with the USNS Harvey Milk being renamed, is ending with SCOTUS ruling that parents can in fact protect their kids from having the rainbow barfed down their throat on religious grounds, and has had a much more muted take on Pride by the corporate world in-between. A pretty good Pride Month, but I daresay still far from the best: that prize can rightly only go to the Pride Month where Obergefell v. Hodges is overturned and whatever shit law Congress passed to make gay marriage into the law of the land on a federal level (don't remember its name atm but it had a bunch of 'based' Republican supporters, like Nancy Mace) also gets declared unconstitutional.

I think the key difference is that the age of the Earth has no effect on how anyone lives their life today, it's an unknowable mystery whose revelation is useless to us... how does retards fighting over which amounts of time that we can't even conceive of effect a child's rearing? Same case for the theory of evolution, saying we used to be monkeys doesn't really affect children in the grand scheme, and there is demonstratable evolution that has created small mutations within recent history, so it's not all bad.

Teaching elementary school kids about interpersonal reactions should stop at the teacher saying, "Quit picking your nose", "Stop pulling Jaime's hair", "Don't lean back in your chair", not this demon inspired love evil bullshit.
