Something shifted in the last 20 years, probably Internet related, at the same time a bunch of moderately attractive people found MUA and filters a bunch of ugly people found FA and bad tats and piercings. People have largely forgotten how to just exist in their own body, it has to be packaged and presented as something else, on whatever little space you occupy on the beauty scale.

But then this is the country that invented toilet wands where you use a literal stick to hold the toilet paper to wipe your ass because your ass is too big and your arms are too short to reach.
Normally, if you had any brains, this would be the wakeup call to "lose weight". But no. Instead it's, just use a stick because it's easier than portion control and walking around the block a couple times.
