Since I'm going to assume he doesn't have any investment in the source material with how he talks about the comics, it's more like he's annoyed these concepts failed in the pages thus the MCU will never have a "diverse" cast of representation if it even lasts that long. It doesn't matter that all these new characters sound like the same hipster teen and are replacing characters that already have fans. Eventually they'll be likable like Luke Cage. He conveniently leaves out how Luke is pretty much the only character at Marvel born out of the same fad to still be around unlike other attempts like Black Goliath. This is likely the fate of most new characters with only a few like Ms. Marvel having any popularity to survive on.

Well, Klaw's origins were pretty white supremacist-ish, since he was the son of a Nazi war criminal and all. He actually does fit as a good foe for the movie, since he's basically the Joe Chill for Black Panther; he killed his father over some vibranium to use for his sound experiments.

Bob wouldn't know any of this though, since he thinks that he's above those comic nerds and gamers who like to play FPS games and anything more modern than 16bit.

As entertaining as the Marvel movies are, I don't think anyone would accuse the majority of them from laboring under a surfeit of originality. I agree with this more than a simple agree tag can express. This is spot-on accurate. The X-Men has always been an EXTREMELY thin allegory for racism, and nobody has ever complained because it's done well. If Magneto was trending #MutantLivesMatter on Twitter, I don't think people would be as enthusiastic about it, and that's more or less how hamfisted the social justice stuff has been in the other comics that haven't been selling well.

I guess what I'm saying is that "Tony Stark goes into coma, young girl becomes new Iron Man" isn't much different than, say, the Knightfall storyline. With decent writing, you could make it work. But Marvel really didn't make it work at all, because they hired shit writers.
