None of this is in good faith, nothing about Trump's immigration policy (or financial policy or otherwise domestic policy) is done in good faith. It doesn't matter how many illegal immigrants get sent away, all that matters is that it's done in the messiest way possible for maximum media viewership.

You are getting dogpiled in equal parts by people who just want to take a shot at you and people who are dumping large amounts of text. I like you and I like to think that you're intelligent so I will state this in the simplest way I can; nobody gives a shit about the optics and "rule of law" because both of those things are how the immigration situation got so bad in the first place.

People are tired of handwringing over giving aliens five deportation hearings plus appeal because muh due process. People have tried for a very long time to play by the rules and do things "the right way" and have gotten burnt for it. Citizens of the US are tired of politicians who do nothing about Mexicans invading the country and living off of welfare for their entire lives while they are stuck with the bill and forced to eat an enormous amount of shit financially, because those politicians are afraid of how it looks.

Voters selected Trump because not giving a shit about what the news media or his opponents think is one of his defining attributes. Republican voters are no longer interested in people like Rand Paul or DeSantis or others who talk a big game but have zero legislative accomplishments and sit down when told to.

They picked Trump for a reason. It is that simple. Save the handwringing about optics for a voter base that cares.
