The problem is that a lot of Leftists have fully given their critical thinking over to their leadership, and a quick change in direction won't faze them. Then they'll just do what they've been doing for decades and use localized election fraud to keep themselves appearing as a viable group.
If we were dealing with an even somewhat logical group of people, the Democrat Party would be destroyed and people like Tim Walz would be imprisoned for all but openly calling for violence against his political opponents. But we don't live with logical people. We're dealing with people who don't think beyond their desire for pleasure and leave everything else to "experts."
