Varg Vikernes' Burzum was a visionary black metal music project in 90s Norway. There was a guy who called himself Euronymous. Basically a retard who tried to act really tough, but all he managed to do was piss people off and lose what little money they made from their album sales to which his company/shop was the distributor. Varg got popular, because his music was good (also he burned down some old churches as a protest against christianity) and Euronymous got jealous. He bragged how he was going to torture and kill Varg. Since the people hated him, they told Varg who took it way too seriously, drove down to his house at 2AM and after some escalation stabbed the guy to death.

He served like 17 years in Norwegian prisons, then got out, released some more music and moved to France to live off the land with his like 9 kids and wife... for a few years he had a succesful youtube channel, which was eventually deemed too based and got shut down.

If it wasn't obvious until now: Varg is a bona fide lolcow.

And to add some more context to the other post, Varg was not the only one who expressed desires to kill Euro. A lot of other bands claimed Euro had ripped them off with either cash, or was stealing ideas they had and passing it off as his own.

Euro wanted to be this lord, kingpin, and boss of the whole black metal movement. So he pissed off a lot of people. I think he hated Varg the most as he was likely the biggest player in terms of influencing other people with his music.

Varg is still a bit of a psycho though, but then again a lot of them were messing with drugs and other strange shit.
