General Wrestling Discussion

I don't really know indie wrestlers so I assume that almost anyone showing up on AEW is an indie wrestler
She was from the first graduating class of Dustins wrestling school and had a few decent matches on dark during the pandemic.

Idk if she just hit the usual supernatural gimmick pitfall or just didn't want to commit to the full time road schedule for ROH tapings.

DSOTR on Hassan was pretty good I thought.
He really got a shitty deal. I’m glad he got the fuck out of wrestling and has a normal job and left with very few injuries. Dude actually got lucky by being released. He also seems like a really good dude too.

The wrestler who barely appeared with the company is upset that their contract isn't being renewed

I imagine Danhausen is going to be gone as well.

Listen, we all had a fat and ugly goth girl at our high schools who compensated for it by looking outrageous. We didn't care back then and we don't want to watch it on TV now.

Yeah but she has big tits so we're supposed to pretend to care.
She'll do just fine on the indies anyway. Le spooky gimmick + was signed to a big company (even if she didn't really do anything there) will be more than enough for a lot of promotions. TNA is on a hiring spree in their women's division so if she's decent enough she might get a chance there.

I watched a bit of AEW recently since I'm sick of all the current WWE main event lines that aren't Gables'.
God help me, I'm actually enjoying it. Like ok, everyone still looks like a CAW, the Bucks are still annoying and there was this really dumb preplanned spot between FTR and a couple of other dudes where they dodge out of a double lariat which lead to friendly fire, but they botched the timing so FTR had to physically shove someone out of the way so that he can lariat his teammate, but I liked some of the wrestling(I really like it when it feels like they're physically brawling more than going through preplanned spot) and I like the promo between Swerve, Hangman and Osprey.
It's a breath of fresh air, is all I'm saying.
I'm with you. Its not that I have a problem with the wrestling, and truthfully some of it is pretty entertaining. AEW is just so soy-coded from the virtue-signaling events, to the trooned out fans, to Tony Khan ceremoniously banning a 70-year old Hulk Hogan from the company for saying a no-no word in a private conversation almost 20 years ago. I can overlook it sometimes but Kenny Omega stopping in the middle of a match to walk up to some pedo in the crowd and lecture the home audience about affirming children with gender dysphoria is lame.

That said, AEW done my boy Sting right, I like Darby Allin and the absolute car-crash hardcore matches that put 2000s WCW to shame. There is merit to them being around.

In other news, Mariah May has been removed from the AEW roster page and is going to sign with WWE.

It going to be hilarious when that Toni Storm promo about "whatever happened to Mariah May?" comes true when she just gets lost in the shuffle in WWE.

Her leaving AEW retroactively helps the Hollywood Ending angle.

professional wifebeater alberto el deeznuts apparently has a good relationship with WWE now and might be returning soon.

They're jobbing the AAA Megachampionship off of him and apparently releasing him after this weekend.

Considering how much shit he has talked about HGH over the years, don't expect to ever see him back in WWE. A title run for The Ultimate Warrior is more likely at this point in time.

Absolutely. Cornette was spot on that his life probably turned out better because he got out of wrestling. It sucks for us fans, though, because that gimmick could've been money. Originally the character had real good points and was 100% right. Arabs (I know he was Italian American but you know what I mean) were getting shit simply because of their ethnicity and he was representing them like that. It would've been pretty easy to have him make a face turn, too.

Of course, the fact he wasn't Arab wouldn't fly today but he did pass as Arab. He also was a legit heel because he did heel shit in his matches like cheating, but he was making valid points and everyone knew it.

Instead the WWE had to make him actually become a terrorist. Even at the time I thought it made no sense since he spent the first few weeks specifically saying that he was NOT a terrorist. It made the whole gimmick dead. All they had to do was keep him the same.
