Anime music that is actually good. - It's not all obnoxious J-rock for 16 year olds and girls with high pitched voices.

full version OP and ED of current gedums has been my main jam on my bike for a minute now, but the tv edit of the ED fucks with the tempo and shit and really fucks it bigly beyond normal 4m+ -> 1m30s
might just be Netfux doing some framedrop bullshit to fit the ten dubs credits, now that I think about it, not sure what it sounds like on JP tv

Most anime music is pretty ass, but I stand by that the songs from Angel Beats are fantastic. Pretty soft rock but LiSa is a great vocalist even if I don't know wtf shes singing about.

Also the band that did the opening to GATE and Highschool of the Dead was a favourite of mine (Kishida Kyoudan & the Akeboshi Rockets). Bought a few of their albums. Lots of touhou arrangements but I don't care about that.

Also special mention to Initial D and its fucking weird eurobeat. Everyone knows GAS GAS GAS, Dejavu and Running in the 90s, but thats meme shit. There are dozens of great tracks and I implore anyone with a fast car to listen to the megamix on a long journey, really makes you wanna speed.

Toshihiko Sahashi is a good Japanese composer; he tends to rip off classical styles (this is most prominent when he ripped off part of the Tchaikovsky concerto in D for a TV drama), but some of them are pretty good:
The entire soundtracks to SEED Destiny and Freedom are great. The London Symphony Orchestra did a great arrangement of Destiny's soundtrack, which is the best way to experience it outside watching the show. Also listen to the entire OSTs for CCA; it's really good and has the proper grand feel.
This is the great piece that goes with the legend of the Ide; it reminds me of Bach.

It may be nostalgia from watching Naruto as a kid but I've always been a huge fan of Asian Kung Fu Generation and kokkoku had a good OP but the show wasn't great

The DEEN Stay/Night anime had a killer soundtrack

Ashita No Joe's soundtrack is rather great as well.

I didn't watch a single one of these, I just found them in playlists for my morning commute and they sound good.
Highschool of the Dead I actually watched/read. It was pretty enjoyable and it sucks that it'll never get concluded (author died, even the singer, Maon Kurosaki, died. It's cursed I tell ya.). Anyway, it had a banger soundtrack:
Every weeb knows this one, but since I've been binge listening to Sambomaster recently anyway, I gotta add the best Naruto intro ever:
Same goes for Flow and their songs that got used for Naruto/DBZ:

Dragon Ball Z has some of the best music. I'm talking about the Japanese soundtrack of course.
The American OST is the good shit:

I fucking hate anime and its fans, and I've never seen Outlaw Star, but this song from it is pretty beautiful.

It's pretty nice. I watched it much later, but I still primarily remember Outlaw Star from seeing a snippet of it as a kid as a part of an interlude between episodes of whatever was airing on Toonami and thinking it looked really cool:

Now it's sort of "im 13 and this is deep" but it's a lot better than the woke propaganda they play now:

Same goes for Flow and their songs that got used for Naruto/DBZ:
When that played in BoG it was the most hype shit ever, I just wish the scene was a bit longer.

High school of the dead is such a bop, I watched all 13-14 episodes on YT, intro was so good. One good anime movie with good music imo is “I want to eat your pancreas”, it’s such an amazing music, especially “Fanfare” it provides a strong sense of adventure, there’s also another vid that translates the Japanese song in English subtitles

Fanfare;

I don't even remember what anime this was the title track for (it was that forgettable, I'm not going to bother looking it up) but it introduced me to Boom Boom Satellites, and they were an awesome kind of electro dance rock band until the main creative guy got cancer and died a while back.
