I do not want to hear "Black Dog," "You Shook Me All Night Long," or "Gimme Shelter" for the ten millionth time. If you're going to do Boomer Rock, at least throw some Jethro Tull in there, or Flying Burrito Brothers, or some Manassas - something else. There are so many good rock bands from the era that don't get playtime because the usual suspects bloat up the programming. You're telling me you can't be fucked to sneak in The Sonics once in a while? No songs from The Remains? They toured with The Beatles in 1966, for Christ's sake. Barry Tashian is a good guy and deserves a better legacy. Not to mention that there are really good contemporary rock & roll bands that deserve playtime, but don't get any because they're not popular enough. La Hell Gang was fantastic but no one gave a shit because they're from Chile. Tinariwen is incredible and there is also a nascent psychedelic rock scene in Sub-Saharan Africa that not only sounds great, but would check all the DEI boxes at the same time... but it's Africa, so who cares? Let's listen to the same shitty song written by a retarded queerbait Jew from Missouri instead. Or the same awful "rap" or "hip hop" song that is thinly-disguised European house music. The recent trend of bands re-visiting disco is atrocious and needs to stop.
I could go on and on, but it's not relevant to this thread. I deserve MATI or Autistic stickers for this post.
