Following it up engaging this dumb nazi-sword point as if it was anything but a joke or funny coincidence is a massive blunder.
But what would the joke be?
I am not saying he could not use a swastika as a joke. But the only joke I can think of is to lean into the "you are going to call us nazi regardless of what we say, but we are good leftists so it is obviously ridiculous". However, in that case they should all have dressed up as nazis or something a lot more obvious.
Another joke could have been to reference the "you see swastikas everywhere, you are insane". But there are no other swastikas hidden in the picture (that anyone has spotted, and I trust into Reddit to have scanned every pixel).
So, we are left with some random Maga hats and a cop hat, so they are playing dress up as random racists, although it doesn't really work because neither cops nor Maga is racist towards Israelis. Ethan did point it out, but that picture is also dumb because if the "racist" clothing is ironic, then is the Palestine scarf also ironic? I like him a bit more because he reminded me of when Hasan wore this
I think the clip of Hasan calling it the "swastika sword", among the other ones (him saying it is "sus" when buying it, not watching bleach, etc), gives a compelling argument that Hasan knew. I can believe Ian is so retarded that he did not notice.
For how much the leftists screech about "stochastic terrorism", this situation with Ethan is a perfect example of it.
