It's a subtle effect, but even buying second hand benefits the original manufacturer, because there being a second hand market for goods means that first hand buyers can justify a higher initial price because they'll "just sell it on when they release a new one" (and are likely already selling their old one to subsidize the new one).

Affordable computing died ages ago, it's quite literally a joke that graphics cards are impossibly high priced. This is the death of enthusiast computing.

Not at all. I feel some sympathy for these smaller companies who place themselves into a larger international chain of manufacturing. Your average... anything, has tons of small pieces that are not made in-house by the company whose brand you see on the packaging. They're made in various factories in various countries. A lot of replacement factories don't exist in the USA and will take years to pop up.
