I doubt it. Besides, his assassination might even do more bad than good. If that were to happen, it would not just be the college students criticizing Israel who get visits from feds. Trump's assassination could spur the push for even more surveillance and free speech restrictions. What America needs more than anything else is to have its faith in democratic institutions restored. If violence ends up more effective, making democratic institutions seem helpless and pathetic... I'm not sure American democracy will ever recover from the new cynical worldview such event would spawn. But on the contrary, if Trump is taken down by democratic means, it will serve as a profoundly powerful testament to the strength and resilience of the republic and make America seem like a dependable ally once again.
