The Department of Education is investigating 52 univeristies for anti-White discrimination:

Office for Civil Rights Initiates Title VI Investigations into Institutions of Higher Education

March 14, 2025

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) opened investigations into 45 universities under Title VI following OCR’s February 14 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) that reiterated schools’ civil rights obligations to end the use of racial preferences and stereotypes in education programs and activities. The investigations come amid allegations that these institutions have violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act (1964) by partnering with “The Ph.D. Project,” an organization that purports to provide doctoral students with insights into obtaining a Ph.D. and networking opportunities, but limits eligibility based on the race of participants.

OCR is also investigating six universities for allegedly awarding impermissible race-based scholarships and one university for allegedly administering a program that segregates students on the basis of race.

“The Department is working to reorient civil rights enforcement to ensure all students are protected from illegal discrimination. The agency has already launched Title VI investigations into institutions where widespread antisemitic harassment has been reported and Title IX investigations into entities which allegedly continue to allow sex discrimination; today’s announcement expands our efforts to ensure universities are not discriminating against their students based on race and race stereotypes,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. “Students must be assessed according to merit and accomplishment, not prejudged by the color of their skin. We will not yield on this commitment.”

The universities now under investigation for allegedly engaging in race-exclusionary practices in their graduate programs include:
  • Arizona State University – Main Campus
  • Boise State University
  • Cal Poly Humboldt
  • California State University – San Bernadino
  • Carnegie Mellon University
  • Clemson University
  • Cornell University
  • Duke University
  • Emory University
  • George Mason University
  • Georgetown University
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
  • Montana State University-Bozeman
  • New York University (NYU)
  • Rice University
  • Rutgers University
  • The Ohio State University – Main Campus
  • Towson University
  • Tulane University
  • University of Arkansas – Fayetteville
  • University of California-Berkeley
  • University of Chicago
  • University of Cincinnati – Main Campus
  • University of Colorado at Colorado
  • University of Delaware
  • University of Kansas
  • University of Kentucky
  • University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
  • University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
  • University of Nebraska at Omaha
  • University of New Mexico – Main Campus
  • University of North Dakota – Main Campus
  • University of North Texas – Denton
  • University of Notre Dame
  • University of NV – Las Vegas
  • University of Oregon
  • University of Rhode Island
  • University of Utah
  • University of Washington-Seattle
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • University of Wyoming
  • Vanderbilt University
  • Washington State University
  • Washington University in St. Louis
  • Yale University
The schools under investigation for alleged impermissible race-based scholarships and race-based segregation are:
  • Grand Valley State University
  • Ithaca College
  • New England College of Optometry
  • University of Alabama
  • University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
  • University of South Florida
  • University of Tulsa School of Medicine
Background:
On February 14, OCR sent a Dear Colleague Letter to educational institutions receiving federal funding clarifying that, pursuant to federal antidiscrimination law, they must cease using race preferences and stereotypes as a factor in their admissions, hiring, promotion, compensation, scholarships, prizes, administrative support, sanctions, discipline, and other programs and activities. On March 1, the Department released FAQs to anticipate and answer questions that may have arisen in response to the DCL.

These OCR investigations are being conducted pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act (1964), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin in education programs and activities receiving federal funding. Institutions’ violation of Title VI can result in loss of federal funds.

Breaking news: Anyone who didn't know that George Bush legally declared that champagne can't be made outside of the Champagne region of France is a moron.
Ver archivo adjunto 7091516
No seriously, I didn't fucking know this.

It's due to a 2005 trade law apparently.

Ver archivo adjunto 7091582

The Quick Fact Sheet and the full Agreement text are archived as attachments for anyone who would like to read the fine print.

It's a bit more nuanced. There are some American champagnes based on 100-year-old loophole.

The long story short on this nonsense: countries routinely trade off Protected Geographical Indications ("PGIs") all the time as part of trade negotiations. For example, America might want to ensure that France can't make "Kentucky Bourbon," so we get the right to that name in exchange for their right to use "Champagne." Note that neither party would be prevented from making bourbon or sparkling wine - the usual concern is that either would feign an association to a particular region (e.g., someone in France making "Kentucky Bourbon" with the right mash bill and then selling it as "Kentucky Bourbon" due to the mash bill, or something like that). Of course, that also invokes a lot of trademark law as well, so even without the PGI you'd likely get in trouble. The topic gets wildly complicated very quickly for a lot of reasons, mostly because it operates on the back of hundreds of years of tradition intermingled with poorly-written trade deals.

Europe probably doesn't want to poke this particular bear too hard. Americans are really, really good at making wine/alcohol nowadays. There's certainly a sort of cache to buying/serving European wines/liquors, but that doesn't mean we can't make equivalently good stuff domestically. It'd be frankly hilarious to see what would happen if all of the U.S. domestic market could freely call their sparkling wine "champagne" - it'd probably absolutely nuke a lot of smaller European champagne manufacturers out of the U.S. market entirely.

There's a reason Dems are throwing everything at this.

It seems like Musk is on such a power trip that he no longer cares about what happens to his net worth. It's the same mentality I get in the late stages of a strategy game, ignore the economy and every other long-term concern to rush victory conditions and pet projects.
that makes a lot of sense, i do sometimes forget that the democrats cost him about $50 billion from their Delaware bullshit. meaning he can be an asshole for a lot longer and still it won't have cost him as much as the democrats did with the shit they pulled.

that wasn't even a recent judgement either, it was way back in february of 2024. so it couldn't have really been about politics.

This whole situation with Tesla cars and Elon Musk is interesting.

1000004197.jpg

So progressives are trying to get Tesla owners to sell their Teslas, with the threat of vandalism in certain cases. The requests is to buy another car but this has several problems.
  • If Tesla owners buy new cars this just creates more environmental damage and waste as the Teslas are persona non grata so they cannot be used and the new cars production has an impact in the environment that these activists probably care about.
  • If Tesla owners buy used EVs, they being higher income earners take away the pool of used cars available for the poor and working class, another issue these activists claim to care about. As such, the poor / working class will continue to drive their older cars (that damage the environment more) AND deprive such persons of better / safer transportation.
My point:

Progressives don't actually care about the issues they champion. They just use them for asspats and to morally grandstand on how they are better than you.

Whether you decide to throw these duplicitous bastards out of a helicopter is your choice.

dude relax lol. Many countries have some drinks that can only be produced in a specific region through a specific process. It’s meant to protect their heritage and the sales of the drink. It’s not a fucking psyop to fuck over the US.

Euros are cucks but you’re gasping straws to be enraged.
He said he's doing it out of pure spite. That's not grasping at the straws of rage, that's fully embracing pettiness. Personally, I support him. Fuck euros. Any petty way we can fuck them is just entertainment for me.
Trump should say if they don't stop being gay he'll renegotiate the trade deal and take away their exclusive use of champagne. No idea if he can but even if it was a bluff it would make them rage and I would laugh.

I told you all. He's a grassroots NGO protestor and they don't want that getting out that the Democrat associated NGOs were paying him to do this shit the entire time.

great
you can taste the difference in the fries, and everybody else's prices for burgers went nuts so Steak And Shake isn't so expensive relative to the competition any more
I haven’t been in a Steak n’ Shake since you could smoke in there, my frisco melt just wouldn’t hit the same without a tin of Camel Darks

I would actually start smoking again if they brought these back.

Money is only worth as much as what it can do for you. You could sit there number-go-upping, but what has that actually gained you? Spend it usefully. If Musk has taken that lesson to heart, it'll be interesting to see.

Teslas have very little resale value. The batteries degrade too quickly and replacing them is often more than the car is worth.

Pipe tobacco is still allowed to be flavored. fun fact. My favorite aromatic is Cornell & Diehl Autumn evening maple, otherwise I'm a Prince Albert man.

What are you talking about? The economy has been in an economic death spiral bubble for over a decade. Popping it and realigning via a market correction is how you get out of it. Reconsolidation and boosting of economic manufacturing power and promoting exporting over importing is th best thing for long term growth we could be doing.
You need a Tiberius Gracchus to cuck all oligarchs out of their land-grabs. Plutarch literally describes our modern day to a disturbing degree. The wealthy Roman classes were importing foreign barbarian peoples to exploit as slave labour in land they intimidated and priced out normal roman citizens of being able to afford land and shelter. As a consequence military service into the Legions with that dangled award of land grants after you served 20 years fueling Rome's engine of conquest were nigh all normal citizens had bar selling themselves into slavery to escape the insulae tenements where gangs of barbarians in the employ of oligarch landlords shook them down for taxes and rents.

A second Columbia University protester who took part in anti-Israel demonstrations on campus was nabbed by Homeland Security agents Thursday, sources said.

Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian who hails from the West Bank, was first arrested in April 2024 for taking part in one of the protests on Columbia’s campus while overstaying her twice-canceled student visa.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem emphasized that it’s “a privilege to be granted a visa to live and study in the United States of America” in a statement shared with The Post Friday.

“When you advocate for violence and terrorism, that privilege should be revoked,” said Noem.

Kordia first entered the US in 2016 on a tourism visa and obtained a student visa the next year, sources said. But in 2021, the feds terminated her visa for lack of attendance. She then applied to have her revoked visa reinstated and was approved later that year.

But she again failed to attend classes, leading the feds to again terminate her visa in 2022.

>get a student visa
>dont attend class at a top university that costs a fortune to attend
>lose visa for not attending
>somehow have it reinstated
>still dont attend class

why was she enrolled in columbia if she never attended class for 8 years?
