100% of communities that are based around hate end up far left, because the far left courts hateful people. And I don't mean the modern newspeak version of "hate", I mean disliking something to the point of making it a key aspect of your personality.
The sole exception seems to be KF, because uncensored dialog is to a leftist as sunlight is to a vampire.

gladiator 2 really has an indian character who is a doctor genius smartgoodguy who literally has a dialogue about his wife from "Londium Britannia" who he has kids with. In a movie about ancient rome lmfao. The indian is the one that saves the day at the end, obviously

I was about to post on the "woke properties you enjoy" thread about how I was finding Sunless Skies surprisingly bearable for being full of gay and genderisms. Then It turned out yet another recurring character is a tranny, and it annoyed me so much that i just suddenly kinda stopped having fun with the game (that plus the fact that, the further in you get, more lore requires being a Fallen London player you come across, so it actually gets a bit underwhelming.)

There's an author named Don Winslow who's had a few novels adopted into films over the last decade. He does airport genre fiction crime thrillers, which I'm a sucker for. He wrote a trilogy about the evolution of Mexican drug cartels over the last several decades, which is a topic I'm also a sucker for.
He's not an amazing writer or close to it. But the early works in this trilogy did stand out in their research and verisimilitude. Many key plot events were things that happened in real life and interpolated onto fictionalized characters. You get perspective characters from the DEA, the cartels, and people who get swept up in the drama. Very solid formula.
The problem hits in book #3, The Border, which Winslow wrote during Trump's first presidency. It's pure TDS fanfiction front to back. The basic theme is that our now-older characters have to deal with Trump, who's of course the worst and most evil and corrupt politician of all time.
Basically, he turned a crime series that was cool because it was steeped in real cartel history into just another metaphor for Trump being bad in the current year. He replaced actual research with regurgitating mainstream news opinion articles during a time of peak political hysteria.
I didn't bother to finish the book, although I've thought about going back and mining it for funny seethe passages. Maybe one day.

I only know him from his social media spergouts -- I actually didn't realize he was an author and not just a political gadfly. Truly psychotic since 2016.

Like 90% of artists on Instagram I liked on any level. Ever since Trump got elected/inaugurated they have to give their two cents on how they think him and Elon are the scum of the earth at best or turn into full on keyboard activists at worst. Obviously applies to YouTube as well. It already existed, but it’s just gotten worse.

in 2016-17 I dropped so many podcasts and youtubers cos of them going crazy about Trump. One was jim sterling who then trooned out, but so many just went crazy, like something about retro games or the 90s simpsons they would bring up Trump for everything.
Then when BLM took over the whole world, like I think people dont get how big and evil they were, there were yotubers saying blm in thier videos, not even from the us, so I dropped them.
With ukraine people were saying the dumb slogan.
The worst thing for me is when people bring up the horrors of capitalism hellworld in any media not to do with that. Like people talking about like a dragon 7 saying its about that.
When people say I agree with all the MM talking points I just check out cos I know you cant think or make interesting stuff, and I dont want to support you.

Lesbian rocks aside, it is a really good narrative about subtle child abuse and neglect, and the entire moral of steven universe future being "hey maybe a kid raised by a fringe poly group with no attachment to society is sooooooo fucking bad for the kid" is unintentionally based as fuck.

I was really into Steven Universe for a bit since I discovered it before they drove someone to attempt suicide and my internet friends were all into it. I liked the music and I liked Greg and Rose.
Steven Universe Future was cringe as hell though. I didn't like it.

What’s hilarious about that is that way before the actual reveal, the fanbase had already considered that possibility but ended up widely rejecting the theory as unlikely or just flat-out wrong. And then it eventually ended up being 100% true and planned from the very beginning.
That’s gotta reflect badly on the writers themselves, though at least Onion didn’t end up being Yellow Diamond.

In Civvie11's Jazz Jackrabbit video that came out somewhat recently, he made some completely off the wall comment about how kindergartens would ban the fable of the tortoise and the hare for being woke. It made absolutely no sense, wasn't topical, and definitely wasn't funny. He basically just stopped the show so he could virtue signal.
It was such a bizarre "joke" that I don't even know what he was signaling. Was he saying conservatives think everything is woke and that he somehow believes that conservatives are the ones in control in our education system? Was he mocking progressives who think conservatives are going to take everything away in the name of returning America to the 19th century? I couldn't tell you. It took place in a vacuum so I had no context through which to interpret it.
What's especially bizarre is that to my knowledge he's never done this before. I'm not exactly his #1 fan or anything, but I've watched a decent number of his videos and he doesn't come across as political at all.
But this is the kind of shit you encounter literally everywhere. There can't be a single thing in the fucking universe that doesn't constantly probe its audience for ideological fealty. Even if it's "just a joke" here and there, it still wears on audiences who aren't absolute NPCs and dates the work immediately.
