Fixed hourly fees usually relate to time in court or a tribunal and for their time doing legal legwork and phone callls, for a lot of other legal fees things it comes under legal disbursements which can become very costly, depending on the circumstances of your case and relationship with a barrister/lawyer.

Perusal of an e-mail from a plaintiff/defendant can be $50, same as requesting for example government agency docs, medical/property records etc. If Destiny is sending Pxies lawyer a heap of vyvanse fueled multiple rants, he will eventually have to pay for all of his and Pxies legal correspondence.
