The "70 ancestors" theory is a horoscope-tier theory. The Americas feature multiple completely unrelated language groups, unrelated like German and Chinese are unrelated (the Mayans and Aztecs are from different language families despite living side by side), and genetic distances on par with Asia. A plausible explanation is there were actually multiple waves that came over from Asia, with earlier groups heading further south before settling because it was colder.

China much less so, which is why the Russians do nothing when China reverse engineers their jet engines and creates their own for J-20s or it nudges into its sphere of influence in Central Asia.

I'm hearing about Elon Musk having access to student loan borrower debt in an attempt to combat government spending. I know that student loans are not a priority with the Trump admistration, but I'd like to know the why and how of this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Department of Education handles student loans with them picking the lenders for the FASFA application. I have doubts that DOGE or Musk would want to rehaul the student debt system, rather it's a justification to abolish the DoE.

If the loans default, then who is responsible for it? The lenders? The colleges? The states?

Going to Mars is fucking cool. A kid seeing a person step onto Mars will forever remember that accomplishment. That does far more for “science” than some TikTok whore gussying up their paper pushing job and duck-facing in front of useless UN PowerPoints.

Trump should not send any direct checks until he keeps his campaign promise of capping credit card interest rates at 10%, otherwise this is just a big moneylender subsidy.

Thats actually a really good point. I think the last time this was tried during the Bush years it basically just went to paying off credit cards.

Of course pushing for that 10% would cause a ton of credit card companies to drop people forcing them to use that 5K to pay off debit any way.
