I'm always hopeful because of how small a slice of time we actually live in and are going through. I think Germany has always had rather asinine free speech laws which have escalating in severity in the new century, but even when things were rather shit for individual freedoms, there was never actually anything to complain about yet that'd warrant them coming down hard on dissenting opinions. I can only really use the UK as an example, but our ass-backwards free speech laws only came about in 2007 and we only lost our right to guns in '97. If things can snap into totalitarianism that fast, I'm happy to assume things can snap into something better just as quickly. How shit did the late Obama and Biden eras feel, and then as soon as Trump's in office things are happening at breakneck speeds. I think with pressure from Trump and Vance, I think things are looking up. 2030s will be the best decade for Europe and America, I can feel it.

Money has a massive influence on the capabilities of certain organisations and groups to conduct their business and without the lifeline of funding, they may die due to a lack of organic support. We know people don't like the flux of immigrants coming into their countries, yet politicians, at the behest of lobbying groups, NGOs, 'economists', etcetera, never actually do much to stop it because it's not the 'right/smart' thing to do. With these external orgs dying and losing influence, the average politician might finally have no choice now but to listen to their constituents. A lot of NGOs also facilitate the delivery of illegal immigrants into Southern Europe so might also see a decrease in them wholesale.
