Ehh. There isn't a single scene from 3 that Shaundi is in where she doesn't do something "badass" or threaten another character to show she's a girlboss. Even if Shaundi doesn't point it out herself, the writers were determined to do so.

I liked it a lot. Bought it on Steam at a huge discount expecting exactly what you described, but I ended up really enjoying its open world, the stealth, the motorcycling, and the "horde" feature. The writing was retarded, the second half could have been cut entirely, and all the characters had goofy potato faces, but other than that, it was better than the sum of its parts, I think.

Probably not on purpose, but Tommy always came off as a walking contradiction. There's this moment that kinda accidentally proves it, Debbie Harry spots him in Kaufman Cabs and she can't even figure out if he's Caucasian or Latino. The family never had his back when push came to shove. Vietnam didn’t exactly help his “ethnic pride” either.

it usually is only a problem when you insult the fans, usually most people are pissed off at the executives making the decisions, the developers usually have to go along with directives from them and when the game comes out and it sucks thats where the anger is usually directed, chiming in and insulting the fans is going to always end poorly for you, Bungie as you said is notorious for not caring what the fans think, doesnt help when you are a programmer or whatever and decide to simp for your bosses, like I can tolerate shit I disagree with more then a lot of people but a direct insult is one way to ensure ill never buy anything from you again at the very least

It needed some stuff cut from the story, and you would have a great weekend game to enjoy. Its a nice world to play in as well, I liked sticking it in perma-winter for that extra Christmas feel.
 
Rockstar Games, specifically Red Dead Redemption 2, reminds of this Kitchen Nightmares segment:


TLDW: the dishes Gordon Ramsay is served in a high class English establishment are great, but there's too many flavors going on in one entree to fully enjoy it.

That's how I feel about Red Dead Redemption 2. Technically speaking, it's a great game. But, there's too much going on with the technology to where its shortcomings are prevalent when you look at the overall product. It's too focused on scripting, little details, micromanaging the player into the story to where the open world barely feel interactive. The design philosophy of an open world game is lost on RDR2 and GTA V compared to its predecessors.

The Navy SEAL copypasta is a "death threat." So's that one about bring your friends, you'll end up in the morgue, etc. "Stop camping or I swear to God I will kill you in real life" is a "death threat."

Any time somebody says they're getting "death threats," unless they're actually calling the police and going to protective custody, I assume it's either fake or Navy SEAL copypasta.

If game developers aren't response to death threats then the only avenue to see that grievances are addressed is to actually kill them. It's not a great situation for anybody, but, they did bring it on themselves.
 
Death threats are usually pajeets/thirdies, blacks, or chinese because only those nationalities have no control over their emotions or are sufficiently spoiled to think that they have the right to threaten someone's life.

No sympathy for devs either because they just use it for brownie points and to deflect criticism.

Recent indie darling Tactical Breach Wizards has gameplay that's right up my alley and a very unique, confident visual style, but the writing is so unbearably Marvel/Joss Whedon/Reddit soy that it actively hurts the experience. The game would be better if it were just a series of maps with no story or characterization at all.

So of course it was nominated for/won a bunch of awards specifically for writing and narrative because gamers are the most tasteless faggots in the entire universe.

Nah, it's just an indicator that they don't have a grasp on the mechanics. It's not like most reviewers are good enough to have informed takes and I have no idea why anyone would spare them any attention. The outlier boss(es) (King of Puppets) received massive nerfs almost immediately. There's a lot to criticize about the game but boss tankiness is hardly one of the worst offenders.
