This is why you just CAN'T feel bad for Phil. Not only is he lying and rewriting a moment where he was legit a fucking asshole, but he's lying to someone he shouldn't be lying to (since "Ash" is the closest thing to a friend Phil has now) and he's doing it even though said person already reacted to that moment.
Literally no reason to lie and still does it. This is why you can't trust a word Phil says and also why people clip these moments all the time, because otherwise Phil will always pretend it never happened.

I disagree that dsp has this life cause he wants it, he has the life he has because he was bullied as a child and shame is one of the hardest feeling to process.

everything in his life today(including his authistic schedule ) is a result of a strong need to avoid feeling anything(shame)+laziness and terrible parenting. He mentioned in the past parents drama and cheating( probably some unprocessed big trauma there too).

saying phil has the life he has because he wants it that way is like saying someone is limping from the right leg after an injury because he wants it that way.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black stealth dropped today and I really, really hope Phil plays it. It's been far too long since he got his ass reamed by a proper action game. I'm sure he'll make a dumb excuse to duck it, though.
Edit: I played the first stage and the damage you take seems nerfed a bit like it was in Sigma 2, and there are added save points. But the enemies are just as aggressive. I don't think Phil has ever played a 3d Ninja Gaiden game so he will be like a babe in the woods. This is one series where Phil's preferred tactic of facetanking everything absolutely will not work.
