80s cartoons were peak

https://youtube.com/watch?v=j18e_ID-DpAthis shit has been hiding in the back of my mind for the last 30+ years.
How does that even help you fight crime or whatever? Cops already have cars. It's not like you can disguise yourself as a car and sneak into somewhere undetected. Gotta hand it to the writers for coming up with anything to do with that concept. If they gave that to me, he would spend one episode getting dissected in a government lab, and then the show would be over.

I somehow clicked into an episode of He-Man the other day. It's called "The Arena" and (I kinda skimmed tbh) appears to be exactly like the episode of Star Trek called "Arena" (the one where Kirk fights a lizard man). So I guess they always had copying Star Trek/Twilight Zone/whatever other boomer sci-fi as a fallback option, in case of writer's block.

TOTAL NOSTALGIA DEATH!!!!!!
I hate how obsessed some people have been with nostalgia, and I feel like it is one of the reasons that modern day culture is so lame and gay. Instead of trying to make something new, people try to make something *quirky and nostalgic*. Normally, people that do this fail. They fail hard. But even if they succeed, it still sucks ass because instead of trying to create something new and innovative, they regurgitate decades old shit from the past.
This is mainly visible within videogames. In the 80s and 90s and 2000s, video game developers actually tried to push the limits of their consoles. They had limited resources, but they tried to make the most out of them. However, in the current year, video game developers just slap shitty low-poly models and some noise into Unreal Engine or Unity and call their game retro. This is also why vaporwave, y2k and fruitiger aero is lame and gay.
Yes, I understand that most modern cartoons are calarts slop. But that doesn't mean that you should live in the past and obsess over nostalgia. That is also why people developing new films/cartoons/whatever shouldn't try to recreate the cartoons of the 80s. There is no time like the present, and I don't want to see nostalgia obsessed retards crying about how they missed all of the cool shit that happened in CURRENT YEAR 20 years down the line. Find new and good shit, like the Smiling Friends thing that Tom Fulp made. Hell, even create new shit. Just stop living in the past!
Something that makes me especially MATI is when some zoomer says that xe feels nostalgia for something zirself didn't experience. JUST SAY THAT YOU FOUND MEDIA FROM THE PAST INTRIGUING!!!! YOU AREN'T NOSTALGIC YOU STUPID RETARD. YOU ARE BARELY IN YOUR 20S!
That being said, nostalgia used to be good before it was mainstream. That's because 1. It wasn't fucking everywhere. There was a time and place for nostalgia and there was a time and place for nostalgia to fuck off. 2. Nostalgia felt more like a homage to the past rather than a (usually failed) recreation of the past.
That isn't to say that there is nothing to be gained from looking back at the past. Obviously there is nothing wrong with looking back at past media and finding it interesting or even inspiring. However, there is something wrong with trying to skinwalk it instead of innovate.

Think of it as like a portable car, it allows flexibility.

It's of course a children's cartoon, so it's a bit silly (and appealing to kids "Wow, I can turn into a racing car, cool!"). Like come on, imagine if Pokémons were real, a cartoon for kiddies, if it was in the real world the amount of illegal fights and organ harvesting would be off the roof.

They had motherfucking HELMETS! Like full badass removable diver helmets, not those shitty GI Joe kevlars! At least that's what the commercials led me to believe. Unfortunately, my disadvantaged ass never got one so I'll never know. That's true childhood trauma.
Yeah same, but I had friends who had some of them. I just had the coloring books and saw the show on tv

thudercats then sliver hawks and finally tiger sharks

I remember this commercial

I dare anyone to watch original transformers G1 and tell what the fucking plot was

Granted disney afternoon shows were good

Street Sharks was way better.

You just know that somewhere along the line, cocaine was involved in this shit. It was really cool though

Early 90's will always be better, cartoons got more adult. 80's cartoons still had some of what I call that 70's/60's "stink" to them. Looking at all Care Bear like shows that came out at that time. Even The Raccoons had the "stink' and I liked that show as a kid.
80ies cartoons had one thing the 90ies cartoons didn't have and that one thing was nobody cared where the "cartoons" came from during the 80ies just as long as they're "cartoons."

You just know that somewhere along the line, cocaine was involved in this shit. It was really cool though
It was a better time when at worst it was coke fiends thinking up new ideas for cartoons. Instead of who we're stuck with nowadays.

Última edición:
I think the 90s had the greatest American toy based cartoon ever made.

I'm talking, of course, about Exosquad

.

It was basically the ETO of WW2 in spaaaaace, complete with genocide, and a Space Hitler with a syphilis-like degenerative disorder. The animation was shitty, but the writing was great.
